Coming out to homophobic parents
I'm 15 and have been struggling to come out to my parents. A year ago I had tried telling my mother I was bisexual but she had started a long conversation, explaining to me that I cannot tell the difference between platonic and romantic relationships until after I've slept with them. My mother and father are always talking down upon the community, it makes me feel as if they won't accept me no matter what and I don't know what I should do? Should I try to come out to them again or should I keep to myself? Should I find other alternatives?

It can be hard when the adults in our lives decide we can't possibly know our own truth and that they know better. Trying to convince them of what they refuse to see can feel like talking to a brick wall, and yes it can make us feel like they won't accept us no matter what we do or say. I can't tell you if you should try again or not. If you have concerns or don't feel safe coming out then you may choose not to until you feel safer. Ultimately I think of coming out as something each of us does when we feel ready and want to, not because we feel we have to. Unfortunately that doesn't always mean others will really listen and hear us or even believe us when we do.
For me, I didn't come out to my family until I'd already moved out. During that time what was important to me was this: I knew myself, my truth and although I was very concerned about their reaction, I wasn't ashamed of my truth.
I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I do hope you will find what works for you.
