Hello,

I'm questioning. I think I might be bisexual. To be honest I'm not sure. In my family, there is a lot of shame around anything sexual. I personally think it might be because I'm a girl. Anyway...I might have a crush on my friend. But I know nothing will happen because she is in a relationship with a great guy.

A part of me wants to get out there to meet people but I'm scared. Thankfully I live on my own in a different city, which helps. I was wondering how did you guys figure out your sexuality? Please, if you have any advice all are welcome.

Hello!

Questioning can be a confusing time, with lots of uncertainty. Though many will say if you are asking those questions it can often be a sign that the feelings you have are at least in some way different from the feelings you were taught to expect. So I guess I would ask: When did you first start to question? What happened that made you wonder?

As for having a crush on someone who is in a relationship can feel impossible, and when it's going well it can seem like the relationship will last forever, and while some do, many don't. Also, if they are in a heterosexual appearing relationship it can be easy to presume they are heterosexual, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are that either.

Giving yourself a chance to meet people and understand the feelings you are having can be a great way to go from questioning to knowing yourself. So, what do you think would help you feel more comfortable going out and meeting people?

Sometimes the only way to find the answer is to ask ourselves the questions and be honest when we answer. Sorry I can't give you more clear answers or advice, but I hope if you start to think about even the few questions above you'll start to gain more clarity.
