How does coming out work?
I'm aromantic & agender. My parents always joke about members of the LGBTQ+ community. My older sister is bi, we don't really mention it, but it's out there. I want to cut my hair short. Like, buzz cut short. Only problem is, I have waist-length, beautiful brown hair, and have had it that way since I was 5. My mom was talking to me the other day, and she mentioned now that I'm older that I get to make more decisions, like deciding how I want my hair to be. Along with asking her about that, I want to come out to her, and possibly bring up getting a binder. Any suggestions?
@JustifiablyLonely Coming out can be difficult due to stereotypes our society has created. Your family seems more frindly towards that and since you feel they have to know the best thing is to share it with them and maybe ask your sister's advice since she is closer to what you're going through. In any case you are special and you don't have to be afraid to talk about who you are. Those who love you will accept you as you are. Please don't hesitate to talk with a listener or a therapist if you're feeling overwhelmed! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
@JustifiablyLonelyhope it goes great!
