Father's Day

Had a bad relapse in depression and today isn't helping.  I am not a dad and more than likely never will be and today hits even harder especially with my own dad being gone for almost ten years.  I guess the knowledge of being alone and not having kids hits harder than ever especially today.

@wjglory

Hello. Surprisingly, the Father's Day in my country seems to be a week later, but still I understand your feelings and I am sorry to hear about your suffering.

Sadly, there are fathers among us who can't see their children too often, due to intricacies of complicated and painful family relations, or the legal system not always working very well.

But there is a bright side to this, too. Once someone said it is not having a camera what makes you a photographer, but being able to see the light. It can be similar with being a father. It is about noticing the fragility, the innocence, the freshness of mind and the curiosity of the world in a very young, growing person.

Even if you are not a father biologically, you can still be a father emotionally and spiritually. From my experience, there might be a lot of good things going to young people through their godfathers, uncles, grandads or teachers - by sheer support, values, hobbies and guidance.
