I Want Help and I'm Debating About Telling My Mom About My Porn Addiction
I feel that over the past month, I have only gotten more powerless over my porn addiction. I'm 16 and I fear wasting the next 2 years of my life in high-school *** through half of it. My parents have been separated ever since I was two and they very much despise each other, but I have debated telling the situation to my mom and seeking help ever since it was May of this year. She is an art therapist and has experience working with people in rehab, and I acknowledge the burden this might carry on her if I do tell her. But I want help, and I don't think it's beneficial to hope that in the next two years, some miracle streak will happen and I'll be cured. I want to quit, but I also worry if I am motivated enough to do it. I believe in some sense, she will try to give me help and not tell my dad, because I predict he would be a lot more angry at me than my mom.
So I have thought about telling her that I need help on some day this week or next week. I might not do it if a decent amount of people say I shouldn't. I know I've said a lot, but I just want this to be out there that I am at least looking for help.
@limegreenPlace743 I fear that if you don't get help now it will highly affect your studying and life in general in the next years
