I hate that phrase so much, I can’t open up to anyone about my emotions without being treated weak and “not a man.” I’m sorry does having emotions and feeling make me feminine!? I’m so tired of people treating me horrible.

🥺

No, you are not feminine.

You are not weak.

You are honest.

Aware.

Open.

Strong.

Brave.

Sadly society often seems men to be weak, leaving them struggling or isolated and not opening up at all, who does this help?

In general with mental health people say, I'll be there for you, you've got me to talk to, the reality is different, when you do, they don't want to know, they want you to pretend, to put on a mask, to not inconvenience them.

When we find that rare person who genuinely cares, it's like gold dust.

You matter.

Your feelings matter.

I applaud you for actually Manning up and choosing different 💜💕

I am afraid what you mentioned is one of the most harmful stereotypes. In my opinion it is based on two false premises: 1) that all men are simple-minded, dumb and unemotional; 2) that all women (and only women) are sensitive and sweet. Whereas more true would be to assume there are different kinds of both men and women.

Having emotions/feelings makes you a human. A person who sees, senses and self-reflects 👍

The biggest paradox is that this vulnerability and strength often go together.
