My Addiction
I'm just reposting this from my journal: So I'm new to this site, which seems to mainly garner the attention of teens (which I am a part of that age group), and I fear that what I'm dealing with is too "adult" for this site, but I digress. All you need to know is that I have developed a porn addiction over the past year. I have tried to quit many times, but I always start back at square one, if not worse as I kept indulging. This summer wasn't the best for me, but I am here now on this website. I don't know what else to say but I just wanted to get this out here as these are the basics of my situation. I don't know if anyone else on this site has gone through or is going through the same situation as me.

Hey there,
First off, I want to say that it takes a lot of courage to share something so personal. You're definitely not alone in facing challenges like this—many people deal with similar struggles, regardless of age. It’s completely understandable that you feel overwhelmed by your addiction, especially when trying to quit.
Have you considered reaching out to someone for support? Sometimes talking to a trusted friend or even a professional can really help you navigate through it. It might also be helpful to set small, achievable goals for yourself instead of trying to quit all at once.
Remember, it's okay to take things one step at a time. I'm here if you want to talk more about it or share your thoughts! Just feel free to PM me, my response time is within 24 hours.

I have considered reaching out for support before, especially my mom as my mother is trying to become an art therapist and has worked in a prison trying to treat people. But telling my mom can go very poorly, and I haven't considered telling any of my friends because I feel like it could drastically affect our relationship (most of my friends are women, but I am friends with some men). I don't know how I can get professional help at my age.

From the 12 Step model of recovery (based on Alcoholics Anonymous) I have friends who have received help on many issues, including porn and sex addiction. I encourage you to do an internet search … here is a website I found to get you started: https://parec.org/meetings
@FaithfulScout
I appreciate the support, but I fear going on the Zoom meetings considering my younger age. I don't want to be judged by the others because of it. Nevertheless, should I join regardless?

From other meetings I have attended, a person can turn off their camera.
The following is information about meetings in general (and may not apply to the link I referenced above) …
In addition to zoom, there may be meetings that are held via a conference call: you call into a telephone number and people can just listen or they can share—it is very organized, so people won’t be talking over each other, and meetings are facilitated by volunteer members who have more experience.
Most meetings are based in the U.S., and sometimes there are telephone numbers available for people who are calling from outside of the U.S. Some meetings are also held in other countries based on their native language.
I did a quick search, and this website seems to have a good reference list: “There are more than 50 different 12-step programs today—each offering peer support for those facing addiction, trauma, or behavioral struggles.” https://recoveredonpurpose.org/the-complete-12-step-programs-list/

Hi!
How are you? Have you found any options for dealing with your addiction? Did you have a chance to try a meeting yet?

Hi, according to my pov, you should see the disadvantages of watching porn and benefits of accepting Celibacy .When you will accept power of celibacy and its benefits it will really cure .I was also in your shoe then I came across to benefits of celibacy and power of it and from that day I quit watching porn.Bro that's a really dangerous thing ,it don't only effect physically but also mentally and socially.Celibacy is the only thing that could help you to get out of this porn addiction.
