Overwhelmed

How much can a person take before it’s too much. The last 5 months have been ***. Was used and abused by a narcissist wife who eventually cheated on me and left. I was left with everything to figure out including all of our debts. Now comes the depression and loneliness that I have never experienced like this before. I fear everything. The present and the future. The ONLY good thing she did was leave me with my house. But it is getting harder to afford without her help to pay our debts. I try to stay positive but every single day scares me because I don’t feel in control of my future

Maybe it's a good time I could tell you a true-life story which happened to one of my best friends...

He met a girl. They started to live together in the same apartment. One evening they had an argument about some silly things (like she wanted to go for a walk alone in the middle of the night, and he opposed?). She left, for her sister or mom.

Just as you, he seemed to be very concerned about how he can afford the rent by himself. I met him at our friend's wedding party. Alone.

But his girlfriend was back in a few days. They married. Had kids. Divorced. After she accused him of things he would never do.

When I asked him what would he tell to himself if he could have travelled back in time to the moment she left for the first time, his answer was clear and instant: "Change the locks, and lock the door!".

Maybe there's some truth in that.

When such things feel pain, confusion, anxiety, disappointment, loss. But in the long run, isn't it comforting to see a person who hurt us vanishing in our back mirror?

🥺

I'm truly sorry she put you through this!

And the future looks so uncertain!

But you are free of her!

Holding onto to something that brings us no joy is not worth it!

I hope you find a way to pay for your house, heal and meet someone who gives you butterflies and uplifts you and puts a smile on your face everyday.

Her leaving could be your biggest blessing in disguise!

💜💕

Thank you. I hope that too. I know now that she no longer deserves to be in my life. We were married 9 years and it still hurts sometimes but I am very aware who she is now
