so i am a 40 year old male trying to over come my sexual insecurity and intimacy issues so about 2 week's a go i thought it would be a wize idea to vist local escorts but ever time i booked an appointment to go ever time about 1/2 hr befor i was due to be there i would come up with sum excuse not to be the last time i did this it got me really down and trying to figure out what is wrong with me.

Well, firstly, you're probably unsure because you think a real man shouldn't be like you, right? These are social/masculine stereotypes that often lead to disaster. I think self-confidence gives you confidence in everything. If you accept yourself, I think you'll be simpler and calmer in everything else. Secondly, escorts aren't the best option to start with, but they can help you with purely technical aspects. If the moral aspect is important to you, perhaps it's better to find a friend; that will be a better experience. Thirdly, although you're worried about this, you're still a good person in other ways, I'm sure. So value yourself and perceive all of this as part of the journey, part of your development. You'll definitely get through this, but you need to make a decision. Don't turn down a request if you've already agreed to it. You'll become stronger after going through this and you'll understand that there's nothing to be afraid of, really. Hang in there and be yourself!
@Voodvins thank you for the reply but i thought that it might give me sum control and experience to get over the insecurities that i have

You have the right to do as you want, I think there is truth in your words.
@decisivePlace8450 It sounds like you’re really trying to understand yourself and what’s behind these feelings. Many people struggle with insecurity or anxiety around intimacy, so you’re definitely not alone. Sometimes, when we make plans and then back out, it’s not a sign that something is “wrong” with us, but that we’re not fully comfortable yet with the choice or the situation. That can actually be useful information.
Maybe instead of judging yourself, you could see this as your mind and body telling you that you’re still working through trust, comfort, and confidence. Exploring those feelings at your own pace — whether through self-reflection, safe conversations with trusted people, or even writing about your fears — can be a step toward building more security.
What you’re experiencing doesn’t define your worth, and the fact that you’re reaching out shows you’re already taking steps forward.
