How to Cope With Uncertainty

Today, I thought we could work through uncertainty together. How can we cope with uncertainty in life when we resist it? As a human, we want to know what will happen and we want to be prepared. Unfortunately, it's inevitable that we encouter uncertainty in life especially at this current time where we might feel more isolated… lets talk about coping skills.

Acceptance

Part of dealing with uncertainty involves learning to accept that, no matter how much we fight against it, life will always be uncertain in many ways. Learning to accept this and work with it will leave you more at peace and will help you to work with it than against it. When we resist something, it keeps on presenting in our lives.

The answer is within you

We often try to find security by seeking reassurance or by looking for validation and approval from others. This is a temporary fix. Learn to start believing in yourself more, give yourself the reassurance and learn to trust yourself more. The more you cultivate inner strength and resilience, the more you will know you can rely on yourself and self-soothe.

Look for the lesson

When life is testing you, ask yourself if there is a lesson in the experience? Personal growth comes from the hard lessons that life sends our way. So even in the darkest times, there will be some level of personal shifting going on. It will also show you that you are stronger than you thought you were.

Youve got this!

Believe that things will get better. This too shall pass.

When life feels uncertain which I know many of us are experiencing right now, do you have any coping skills that you wish to share with us? Lets support one another and work together to ensure people know that they are not alone. heart

I usually cope with something uncertain by focusing on the things I CAN control. Making a list, a goal sheet, or simply doing a mental inventory of what I have a handle on currently really grounds me and helps me move forward through the fog. I may not be able to see past arm's length, but I can see the ground I'm walking on! I'll just make sure I don't trip. :)
