Dealing with failure
I wasn't able to achieve my dreams because of mental illness. It still makes me sad, but I remind myself that avoiding stress is necessary. I am now trying my hand at other things like baking. I bake to keep busy and also to earn money. I have also found it to be very therapeutic. It makes me feel useful too, so I feel less of a failure.

Hello!
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way about your life. But it's wonderful that you are aware that there's something therapeutic, like baking, that can create positive feelings within you. Knowing what you feel bad about and what brings you peace/joy is the first and most important step of improving your life for something fulfilling and meaningful!
No matter what anyone says, it's never too late to achieve goals and make dreams come true. It doesn't matter whether you've failed, procrastinated, or let your fears stop you from following your heart's desires in the past - life is right here, right now! In the present. Not 5, 10, or 20 years ago. Whatever you've done -or haven't done- in the past, it's now that you are meant to achieve great things and do everything that's in your power to succeed and accomplish fulfilling things! The past is over and gone forever, and it is the way it was destined to be.
There is a reason you are here, at this very second. You are here to be happy, to be the person you want to be, and to build up your best life. You can be the highest, strongest, happiest version of yourself! Nothing is impossible. You can accomplish ANYTHING. You just have to want it as badly as you want to breathe - work towards your goals every day, believe that you can do it, and always remember that you deserve it. You deserve to be happy and have the meaningful life that you've always dreamed of.
Never, ever stop dreaming big! Never lose sight of your deepest dreams! Let no mistakes or regrets discourage you. Always persevere. Let tough times, insecurities, doubts and sadness be temporary, but make your determination permanent! I will repeat it : you can do absolutely ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you dream of. You must simply want it so strongly that nothing can take your eyes off of your goals.
You are powerful, you are important, and your life has a purpose : whatever purpose you want it to be, it's there. Find it, make your passions the reasons why you get up in the morning and why you close your eyes with a proud, satisfied smile at the end of your wonderful day!
Be patient with yourself and forgive yourself for any mistakes done in the past, for any time wasted by dwelling on regrets, and for allowing yourself to forget about this flame you have within you for even one second. This strength, those dreams, this burning fire of bravery, power and courage... it's all still here, in the depths of your heart. It's right there, waiting to be unleashed, waiting to be used for incredible purposes, waiting to be shared with the world!
You can do this! You are unstoppable! All those goals you've abandoned before - they're all coming back to the surface, and you're going to achieve each and every single one of them. No matter what.
