How do I stop being a attention seeker

So I was told that I am a attention seeker and I want to change that habit

A few thoughts.   First, are you really an attention seeker?  Is this just one person telling you that, or multiple over time?   If just one, maybe they were just having a bad day, and you don't have this habit at all.  If multiple, well maybe they are noticing a pattern.   If you think you may be an attention seeker, try to catch yourself when you do it and consider how attention seeking rewards you?  Are you lonely?  Do you feel like you need to prove yourself? Something else?  Good luck.

Be yourself. If you are getting attention not your fault. Just don't fake it to gain attention. That's what my personal opinion is. What's the harm in getting attention if you get it for who you are and if someones making you feel offended for that then perhaps time to remove this gas lighting person from your circle. These are my personal opinion

wanting attention is completely normal, but it depends on the situation you are in, don't worry, and if you aren't comfortable after changing to be someone you don't want to, you can go back and be yourself

@Misterdoctordude I'm really sorry you were told that. That sounds like a really hurtful thing to hear. I hope you aren't too harsh with yourself - we all have flaws that we're trying to work on. Maybe you could identify the situations that you feel like you are being "attention seeking" in, and, the next time it happens, stop a moment before you act, reflect if what you're going to do is truly what you want to do.
