Hopelessness And Mindfulness

Perhaps many things inside you have been transformed; perhaps somewhere, someplace deep inside your being, you have undergone important changes while you were sad. ~Rainer Maria Rilke
That one job that you thought you would get-fell through....
Your finances are lowering and you are wondering in 2 months how you gonna pay the bills....
The washing machine broke and flooded your home causing 1,000's of dollars to repair so you charge it....
Your loved one passed away all of a sudden....
Whatever the issues on the outside affect how we feel/react in the inside. And all this is here has you feeling hopeless, maybe some anxieties to. Then it targets your other mental health triggers and there you go- you are a hot mess. Please take a deep breath now, and let's see if we can help ourselves.
All circumstances and situations that arise in our daily lives are all valid. They are real life issues we must take care of and deal with. But it is "how" we choose to react and feel. Yes I know that word "choose" is a scary word when we are so used to reacting or feeling a certain way to situations. But you can do this-honest. Let's see of some ways we can handle this:
- First Stop And Breathe- Yes do exactly just this. When you have an issue or something go to a quiet place and sit. Focus on your breathing. Let it come from your upper chest area as this is pure good oxygen. When we allow ourselves to calm some we can focus on the details of our issues easier and clearer.
- Ask for help- Many situations that feel or truly are hopeless to us suddenly becomes doable when other people get involved. When others are in our circle as some support to us, there is extra insight that can help our situations. We have more options to choose from.
- Think In Moments- Try to focus on what you can do at this moment. Then what about tomorrow. We can cut te worrying thoughts less by keeping our focus in little bits instead of all at once gotta get it done thinking.
- What is your purpose- Finding your purpose can be a challenge but let's make this easy. Find something you are interested in-like a hobby. When you get your full self emersed into this happy you will start to see yourself calmer in the inside.

1. What are some situations/feelings you are going through that keeps you feeling hopeless or worried?(If you feel comfortable you can share)
I suffer from some pressure at work, and I recently discovered that one of my coworkers must watch out for it as she always tries to prove that she is more efficient than me and that she can do my job even though I am an architect and this fellow is a civil engineer. I am in the process of renewing my contract and I do not know what will happen to me.
2. We all use different skills to keep us floating through our days when things get overwhelming. What are your skills you use to cope?
Run away through sleep.
3. Please share some goals that are realistic to you to help you through your situations/feelings?
To success in my job and study.
@DinaElwy hi and welcome here
Thank you for coming here and participating in our discussion! I am very sorry you suffer from pressure at work. That can lead into so many things as inner feelings of "worth" concerning your job. It is sometimes a "race" concerning certain jobs or positions...then leads sometimes to feeling hopeless when the boss over looks you. I do hope you build on your job confidence and know you are a great architect
Well in your sleep you can do whatever you like lol. Running away is ok to do....in your sleep though. I really do hope the stress at your job will dye down fast so you can feel the job is safe again. That is a great goal-success in your job!! I know you will make this goal and be great at it!!
@RumpleSteeleSkin thanl you for your support

I try and journal or just go out for a walk.

I've been working on making a budget and working with the doctors to go back to work.
@Goldcherry2113 Yay good that you are here with us! ahh I really can connect with you on this. No work and little money to pay bills and live on IS stressful. I am in school for nursing and my hours of work are very low. So I can connect with you on this situation a lot. I hope that very soon you get work and the income ill set you free from stress and worry. Journaling and taking walks is a great way to not let things get to overwhelming for you. Good job! I think that is very smart on making a budget to keep focused every month. Yes I do hope the visit to doc will clear you and you are well to work again. Hugs

You have a very good skill when things get tough. Breathing. Just do this simple thing to get yourself refocused and checking in with yourself. Good job. Yes take a break/self care and breathe are great things to keep doing to help you. Thank you for sharing here
