I AM SO SORRY BOUNCY! I totally didn't mean to leave you hanging the way I have. I've been on a three week trip to Mexico and the wifi was basically non-existent. I even had to buy a SIM card for my phone so I could at least stay in contact with my parents to not have them worry about their little girl on the other side of an ocean cheeky

Anyway I am back home and currently not planning on leaving for quite some time. I hope you're still out here and you still like to chat up together, I'd absolutely love to smiley

Mexico was amazing, I've had the best time there. I'm originally from Europe, The Netherlands to be exact. So for me it was checking out an entire new continent. I've been to two places, Mexico City and Playa del Carmen. I liked Mexico City more, mostly because Playa del Carmen is very touristic. Still though, if you look past all the annoying sales men who keep advertising themselves as 'Mexican boyfriend?', there's still lots to see and friendly people to meet there. But I suppose these friendly people are also a little tired of all the tourists, because they keep to themselves a lot more than the people in Mexico City. They loved it when we came to their little food stalls and wanted to try their food and they were really interested in us and where we came from. What we thought of their city and such, you know? Luckily I learned some Spanish before coming to Mexico, because their English wasn't top notch (now neither is my Spanish, but together we could figure it out).

Anyway, I'm sorry you couldn't go on a vacation sad Do you feel like sharing the reason, or rather not? Both are totally fine of course. We can also just start introducing ourselves for a bit first!

Let's see, you can just call me either Jay or Julia, both are fine and I'm from the Netherlands/Holland as I said. I live near a city called The Hague. I'm 21 years old, still live at my parents' house together with my little brother and my cat, and I'm currently studying linguistics. I want to become a teacher though, or more like a tutor. I want to help kids that are struggling in school because of learning disabilities or a lack of language proficiency. Erm... just to add something non-standard too, if I'd be a colour it would be orange, because I'm usually kinda bubbly and energetic, like yellow, but if you get on my wrong side, I can be really quick to anger and be kinda explosive oops. Don't worry though, it's hard to get on my wrong side, just don't hurt my friends or family and you're generally fine cheeky

I looked some Mexico photos and i am really fascinated by them. I can't imagine how wonderful your vacation was also it is great you broaden your horizons there by meeting new people new cultures and places . I like this side of trips more : meeting local people -they are generally so hospitable and friendly welcoming already as you said-, tasting special foods , watching traditional dances , observing lifestyle..etc, then visiting touristic places when there become calmer. I can imagine how talking or able to say some words in their native language builds a genuine communication between each other. I am glad you improved your Spanish there too. And Thank you for sharing with me ..

Hopefully I will go on a vacation on following weeks too. Then I will share mine too .Even though I didn't have a chance to go on a long vacation recently , I love going jogging and cycling along the seaside and there are enough beautiful places near here to refresh and doing breat exercises or clearing mind.

And nice to meet you Julie ^^ I am Myra and I am on my late twenties. Also I am Turk. Studying lingustics -sounds cool really. I am sure you will be an adorable teacher with this great enthusiasm and caring heart.

Oh cats ^^ My childhood memories are full of them but I don't have now . My last pet was a budgerigar and it escaped from open window a few months ago .. Although it leave me desolated feelings , at least it tasted flying freely in sky for once ..

Woaw I really like the way you described yourself by colors :) Orange -bubbly, yellow - explosive. How colorful are you :) Well , let me think ^^

I love orange too , but I am mostly a calm, other times a moody person :) Beside this I like purple and lilac too. Purple reminds me compasionate , imaginary feelings and a sorrowful heart . Blue, brown and turquoise are my other favourites. Well I am actually a Libra and it is hard to say a certain one , I love all colors harmony.

It was a pleasure to share my stories with you. Thank you for listening and showing interest smiley And I totally agree with you on the topic of holidays. Having a connection with the local population through shared love of their country, and just being friendly and kind to one another, is what helps us capture the best moments of our holidays.

I am so glad you can still find time to go on a holiday. I'd love to hear all about it when you've gone. Though, could you maybe already share where you're going? I'm curious wink

Cycling is the absolute best (to me) but I'm not much of a runner. I admire people who are though, because to me it's just very exhausting. And you live along the seaside huh? I do too. How do you like the ocean? What do you like about the places you do your mind-clearing and breathing exercises? Are there specific qualities to those places that help?

Uhm..you got it almost! It's Julia not Julie wink Oh alright you're from Turkey! I've been there once, on a cultural trip with my school. We spent a week in Istanbul. I really loved it there, the architecture is beautiful. It is a very busy place though, lots of people (like in every city of course). Myra is a beautiful name smiley

I'm sorry to hear about your pet. Sometimes bad things happen, and though it makes us sad, I bet your pet had a good life with you before that happened. And like you said, it got to experience a powerful moment of flight.

You totally don't have to pick just a colour, I love how you went over a couple of them in one. And I agree, all colours are beautiful, and we can find ourselves in each if we look hard enough.

I don't mind that you wrote a lot, I love writing, so some days you might expect complete essays from me when I feel like it cheeky

I'm not that much of a newbie in my own opinion. I've been practising yoga for over a year now, and I'm moderately active in the mindfulness comunity on 7cups. I have been slacking a lot these last couple of months though, and I'd like to get back into taking better care of my mental needs. Your idea therefore sounds perfect!

Sure we can share words or pictures that have inspired us during the day. Or we can answer questions like you have written down below. We can do that daily.

If you want, and like, you can also ask me questions if you have them, or we can discuss topics. I sometimes come upon something during yoga class that strikes me as either interesting, peculiar or just so great that I feel like talking about it. We can do that too, if you'd like of course.

But just to start it of today, there is a song that really helped me to get into a positive headspace today. I was upset today, due to lots of things just going wrong, and all of them happening today, one after another. I got frustrated and yelled at my little brother. Then I heard the song Mr. Blue Sky on the radio. I forgot who the singer was, but these lyrics stood out to me:

There's a place to be with you

Look around see what you do

Everybody smiles at you

It helped me remember that there are a lot of things in the world you don't have any power over. All the things that went wrong today, I couldn't fix that. But I could fix my own cloudy mood by just smiling and staying kind to everyone around me. Just because I had a bad day, doesn't mean I should yell at others and make them have a bad day too.

Just keep on smiling, stay positive, and you'll see that others will feel that positivity you emit, and feel a little lighter and a little happier too smiley

I am glad you reminded the song just in time. While reading your sentences I felt like I wrote them really. I find myself mostly in this kind of situations too ,and those times a lyric, a quote or a memory comes to my mind to rescue me and help me fix myself.

Recently I read smt like " When the soul forgets ,means it fell down but when it remembers , it is risen."

Well you havent fallen today , you have been risen ...Because you remembered.💜 You remembered to smile and being mindful about the situations that makes us less powerful.

How was my day ? Today I have talked a few friends here who brighten my day everytime we speak. Also your replies makes me kinda curious and excited. smiley So I can say I have been distracted and been calm. Sometimes I have been tricked by the feelings that make me forgot this , as you said "there are a lot of things in the world you don't have any power over" But we suffer. Because our heart is related to whole universe, with all beauty and darkness. How can we stay alive ? I have been thinking on this a lot really. :) Then recently I watched a movie named "Finding Neverland". Have you watched it?

In movie , it says :

"When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies."

I am fascinated by the idea that" to find the neverland while we are still in this world , we need some pixies and imaginary to stay alive."

You surprised me by your vacation to Istanbul. It is a great place to visit but really hard to live with that crowded and noise. Nice to know that you liked being there. My city is near to Agean Sea and not crowded as Istanbul. You asked where I am planning to go vacation. Well.. Black Sea Region is one of the most green and spectacular part of our Turkey , especially with its natural beauties. My first trip will be to there hopefully. Other details will be coming soon :)

I smiled so hard when I read the lyrics! And then I sang along haha, it truly is wonderfully inspiring, ain't it? wink Actually I didn't know the song either, a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine showed me a video though, a clip from a movie she liked, and it had that song in it. I've been listening to it a lot ever since.

I like your view on how we just need to remember. It kind of implicates that what we need to cheer ourselves up, and be in a more positive mindset, is already inside us. We don't need anyone else, we can do it ourselves. We just need to dig a little, raise our souls, like you said. I love that phrasing.

I'm so glad you have such good friends like that in your life heart Family, to me, means a lot, they are so important to a person. But just as important are the people in your life you choose, namely your friends. These people don't share blood with you, they don't have to stay with you, yet they do because they want to and they love you. That's beautiful I think, and because of that it totally makes sense that they brighten your day each time smiley.

You know, I think we're a lot alike. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all the ugly in the world too, especially the things I don't have power over, like people hurting other people. That's when I hide in my fantasy worlds too. I love writing, and I've always had a huge fantasy. I love that about myself, really. It's how I still stay a little, well childish, or more childlike at least.

Anyway, I had a point with this. Yes I have seen Finding Neverland. A couple of times actually, I loved that movie, especially the second quote you mentioned. Because you need a little fantasy, a little of the impossible, like pixie dust, to create a world. It isn't all cold hard science and truth, it's believing and loving and faith.

Do you know the movie The Greatest Showman? It's a movie just like that, where the main character needs his imagination, and a little magic in his life for it to become meaningful. And in return, he brings magic and imagination in other people's lives too.

Song lyrics I really like in that movie are:

"Every night I lie in bed

The brightest colours fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make."

And from another song:

"When the world becomes a fantasy

The first one is really about how your dreams are meaningful, and that the way you see the world is meaningful. The second one is how you can change the world with this vision of yours, these dreams that you have, this fantasy in essence. Just like with Finding Neverland, you can find your beautiful fantasy world in reality, so to say.

I really can't wait to hear all about your holiday, I hope you have the absolute best time! For now though, I'm totally glad I have you to talk to each day. I actually already notice that I go through my day more mindfully because I know I'll be telling you all about it in the evening!

Today was a really good day for me! Just like you I had a lot of fun with my friends. But before I could go to meet up with them, I had a lot to do and felt a little overwhelmed by it all. The following quote really helped me put it all in perspective:

"When traveling to your destination, don't forget to enjoy your pitstops to the fullest."

I translated it as, that I shouldn't constantly think: I need to do that, and that and that. Because that's me focussing on my destination. Instead, I can be proud of every task I accomplish, celebrate it a little. When I finish cleaning the kitchen, that's such a good thing of me! Of course I need to take the trash out too, and do some washing up, but cleaning the kitchen is already an accomplishment worth celebrating!

Oh I am glad you started singing while reading lyrics again , maybe you added some dance movements to it? it is more enjoyable way than reading straight , right ? . I would absolutely do the same.cheeky

But why your words are so poetric and fantastic . I enjoy while reading but when comes to reply I am just staring at screen in a desperate way :) Anyway , I know this lovely person will reflect more beautiful, doesn't matter what I am saying .This is really heart warming to realise.heart

I see you are really protective and caring on your family .You said once when they are hurt by anyone you turn to "yellow" mood .. I am totally agree with you about friends. I have been away my family for years since my teenage years and by time when I look at my around I only see friends.I can say they are my family..

Like imagining a forest in a desert . Also dreaming blossoming in dry lands of hearts . Well seems like imagining takes us to hope? A vulnerable and bright light of a candle... It will be time to come out of our hidden fantasy world and enjoy with the real magic of life. It worths to live even for a moment to feel that pleasure. Such an encouraging quote !Sometimes those pitstops gains more perspectives to us than those destinations and as we accept life is a journey more than a destination , we need to accept and look for ways to be mindful about them.

Today I was in lazy mode. Just staying at home and not doing anything. Then my friend called me who moved to a new house and need some help about cleaning and settling down again. Well I really felt awful because the only thing I wanted to do was being at home and never move. But I couldn't leave her in that situation too also could not lie about being busy with another thing really because I was totally available :) So I said "okay, I will come to help". But I was looking for some motivations to convince myself .

Then I remind this one :

It seems a bit irrelevant but it absolutely makes me feel stubborn and do the reverse if I really feel like I cannot do. It kinda remind me about my decision I make before to discipline some sides of myself . Then I went to help her .On the way of back to home, I have fallen asleep on bus - It is really rare thing for me - all my body especially arms were aching after whole days work. I pushed myself to home so hard. Even now I am writing slowly, hard to move my fingers :) But I am feeling blissful really. This was a simple thing to do , but sometimes requires so much effort and motivation to decide.

Well let me ask how often do you write? How you feel when you read any of your writings after a long time? I like noting some moments not to forget about how I felt that time. It can be about fear , a happiness or a missing feeling.

Hi, sorry for the little later than usual reply but I went out with a friend last night and came home later than expected. I decided to go straight to bed and write you a reply in the morning (but it's almost afternoon already, oops, I'm not doing well on my planning today XD).

Anyway, yes I dance to my music. I love dancing, and in my opinion it is a very mindful thing to do. I'm not that good at dancing in my opinion, but when the music turns on, I just move. And really, then it doesn't matter what you do, You just move along, do what feels good for your body, and most importantly, have fun! That's all what dancing is.

What I like most about music and dancing, is that it's so natural to us. Every single country, every single culture, knows music and dancing. It's something that is as old as humanity itself, it's like something we're born with. And I love that. So yeah, the moment I realised that, I stopped telling myself that I couldn't dance. Everyone can dance, some are just better than others, that's all. And that's okay, some people are dancers, some are writers, some are the best in academics, and so on. But we can all at least do it, or bodies are made for it wink

Don't worry about the words not coming for you, even writing is something you get better at with practise. And I've practised a lot for years. Sometimes the words won't even come for me though, they call it writer's block, and that's not a bad thing. It's just your mind saying: "Not right now, I'm tired, maybe later."

And really, it makes me happy when people enjoy my writing, makes me smile smiley Though I do notice that English is a language you slightly struggle with still (which is totally fine, I mean, it's your second language!), your thoughts and insightful comments totally make up for it! After all, you can weave pretty sentence after pretty sentence, but if the content isn't interesting, or doesn't say much, then what do pretty words even mean? You gotta have an interesting message to say first, before you even try to put it into words.

I'm glad you have found yourself such a caring group of friends around you, that they're so wonderful to you you can call them family. That's very special heart

My fantasy world, well I like to call it just my headspace, it can be anything I want it to. I'm not sure if you've ever tried guided meditation sessions? Of not, you can try some on either 7Cups, or on youtube. I usually do guided meditation after a yoga class. The teacher guides us into our subconscious and brings us to a place, for example the beach, a meadow, on top of a mountain, looking down a road, anything. All these places I've ever been during meditation, are still in my head, and I can go there when I feel like it.

That's how my headspace works. It's like there's this hallway with all these doors and I can open them whenever I feel like it, go there, and be calm, or excited, or re-energized. I go to these places either when I meditate, or when I'm close to falling asleep. You know that? When you're still awake sort of, but the world around you just isn't there anymore?

I hope you can see The Greatest Showman soon, it's a movie that had me very excited, still does!

The message of 'dreaming with your eyes wide open', or 'come alive' as the song is called, is in fact that the people now live in a world that they have dreamed about forever. All their dreams came true, and now dream and reality is basically interwoven, it's the same. That's why the song says 'you know you can't go back again to the world that you were living in' because basically all you've ever wanted is now reality. No way anyone would want to go back! The song gives me hope that dreams do come true, that you can form the world to your image to some extend. I think even that slight chance that it can be that way is worth it. I'm willing to work for that.

I'm so happy with you as a buddy as well! I feel like we're very similar in lots of things, and I just love your perspective on different topics. It's so enlightening! heart

Oh how I know 'lazy mode'. Such a terrible mode, but on the other hand, something your body and mind need sometimes. After all, we're all simple humans who sometimes need to recharge. I think it's such a good and kind thing of you to help your friend. She can be lucky with you for a friend! It's very admirable that, even though you didn't want to, you put your friend in the first place. And I'm so glad it made you feel good to have helped her in the end.

For next time, this is something that really helps me. Because of course it is a good thing to help your friends, but never forget to take care of yourself. That's why I do selfcare after a busy day. And at the same time that's also my motivation. For example, I really don't want to do grocery shopping today because the weather is bad and I have to go by bike. But if I do it, I'll allow myself a really long bath tonight, to get warm again. I have new bathbombs, so it's probably gonna be really good! Now that thought alone is enough for me to get up and drag my sorry ass to the store to do the groceries XD

I know the quote of Van Gogh really well. As you might now, the man is a Dutch painter. The Van Gogh museum is not that far from my home hahaha. But it's a really good one. I like it too, because just like Van Gogh and you apparently, I'm very headstrong. I won't let myself be told I can't do this or that.

I do hope you have managed to sleep well, and maybe you can do a little self-care today. I hope you'll soon feel less tired laugh

Hmmm how often do I write? I write when I feel like I have thougths that need to be written. There's no set schedule to it, I definitely never MAKE myself write. It's not a job for me, so it should stay fun. If I don't feel like it, I don't make myself.

Just like any other writer, I feel terrible about anything I've written after some time XD But I never delete it, and I reread work every now and then. It's important to see where we've come from, you know? Improvement is something to be proud of, so whenever I feel ashamed for my writing, I remind myself also, that I must've gotten so much better over the time to even feel ashamed for something I used to think was at least decent. It's all about the growth.

I understand you liking to write about the moments, it sounds like you're a diary kinda person. I'm not much, I write lots of fiction, because I like writing about what goes on in my headspace, but I do make many notes of what I see in reality and like. Because fiction is great, but nothing can ever be entirely fictious. There is always parts of your story that people can relate to in reality because in the end, our minds have to work with a basis that is the reality around us.

Now I feel like I've talked so much, and I don't even know if you get what I tried to say. Sorry, my head is complicated, I know that. But I really appreciate your interest in it all, because my headspace means a lot to me. You're such a kindhearted person, you really are. Which brings me to my quote of today:

You make me really happy by that quote:

Beautiful people whom I encountered here including you make me believe this more day by day. Our souls taste friendship , care and compassion here without seeing each other or maybe better to say we are learning loving, believing and supporting each other here without having any prejudges or divisions. That's really heart touching to realise when it able to happen. Also when we find out some common interest , it makes me more open about to share my world . I am really resonated with your ideas about writing , loving dancing, giving gifts to yourself as a self care after some hard work also Enthusiasm to share experiences about something we find useful while practicing on ourselves. Also thanks for reminding me about self care while helping others.

Let me begin a confession that i have never done meditationsurprise. for a few times I joined mindfulness discussings here and watched some guided mindfullness videos as a first time . Also I do learn about it more by reading threads. that's all for now.

That's really amazing you can keep your meditation places in your mind and go there when you need to feel calm, excited or re-energized.

If your headspace works like this way , it is not surprising at all really you able to write fiction stories. That's cool and gives an idea about your creativeness.

And you are right I am a dairy person. But it is also rare. I only write when I strongly need to or felt so stucked with confusing feelings. Since my childhood , I do write letters to my loved ones when I miss them so much but never show to anyone. It is like pouring all negative or weak feelings down to paper, so i can say I feel a bit ashamed , nah a lot ashamed to show them others. It is not about quality of writing , more like showing my feelings. But when I reread any of them after years it makes me grateful about all those stayed at past , sadness left but it's plesure still remains. I tried to write a few short stories before too .I am also careful about not to force myself about writing and keeping it special to myself, just enjoying with it.

Oh you realised my struggles in English. blushEven sometimes I feel like what I think and what I write down is totally different or can't express myself as I wish to do, as you said by more practicing I believe it will develope more. As well as I feel been understood, then I go just by the flow by the interest of meeting new people and getting new perspectives.

Btw I am totally into your sayings about dancing. When I feel stressful or just as a morning exercise I love dancing randomly. But before dancing I be sure about being alone and noone can see me .Then start enjoy with it , who cares professionalism or steps winkOh should I confess I worked on learning indian dances recently?

Well our Tv's recently been broadcasting so much indian dramas and whole family comes together in those hours. When my mom put her hand to my head while promising and when my sister start indian dances i realised how much step we get so far about indian culture. Now they are more okay :) Those dances are actually an excuse to enjoy together and make them laugh. I miss those times really.

Nowadays I am having connection problems again so my answers can be a bit late. Also I am planning to dive into forums more to find out more about mindfulness and other topics. This wondering seal will bounce more whilst being in your company .💜💜

I'm so glad you understood what I was trying to say. It's all so clear in my head you know? So when I put it in words, I always worry that I sound a little weird, or that it sounds like I'm trying to write a story or something. But that's not it, the images are there in my head, it's just really hard to explain why they are there, and what feelings they bring me. So yeah, I'm so happy that you are willing to listen to me talk about it, and that you understand my sentiment towards it heart

Hey don't worry about never having done meditation before. It's not like I'm an expert or anything. We just do a short beginning meditation (about 5 minutes) and a relaxation in the end of each yoga class. In the end relaxation part, we usually do a little guided meditation, which is where the images in my headspaces come from. I have trouble meditating at home. I struggle with the first five minutes of each yoga class anyways, because I'm still full of all that has happened during the week, so I have trouble sitting still then. Only after an entire class, I can come into that place where I can meditate. So yeah, doing it at home is hard for me.

But that is totally okay, meditation is all for you! You do it for yourself and thus you can practise it at your own pace. What I've noticed is that meditation helps me when I have trouble sleeping. Guided meditation videos distract me from my thoughts, and help me breathe deeply and evenly.

If you're not ready for meditating yet, that's totally okay. It's not a commitment, it's not like you HAVE to. Do what feels good. Some people, for example (I am one of them) do better with moving meditation. You can dance on music for example, with your eyes closed (music without lyrics, I've found, work better because words might distract you or call upon thoughts), or you can take a walk. For me taking a bike ride with music on is very calming and chases away the thoughts in my head. When I come back home I feel energized, even though my legs are tired. My mind just feels cleared and calm, just like after a meditation session.

So really, you can totally try out what works for you, and you don't need to stick to some schedule one way or another. Just do it when you feel like you need it or you just want to do it. All is totally fine. Again, you aren't doing it for anyone but you. So don't do it for me just because I told you this all. You can totally tell me: "Well, thanks for the info, but I'm good. I don't want to do any meditating."

And hey, you've already made a great start with the mindfullness community! That's worthy of an applause! heart

It's totally okay you never felt like this before. Then I just know that not anyone feels things like that (I thought everyone did). How wonderful it is to learn things about others! I'll simply go in a little more detail, on how it feels to me. It's always when I lie down and often there is some relaxing, not very loud sounds in my surroundings. I have it, for example, when I lie down at a beach on my beach towel, when I lie in bed but the radio or tv is on, or just when I lie on the couch and my family is going around through the house.

When I'm in that position, and my mind is calm and clear, and my body is completely relaxed, I feel like drifting a little. My imagination starts to turn on. First, I have normal, everyday thoughts, but they turn into something more fantastical, something that isn't really there at that moment. I think of stories I like, or I make up my own, or I think of beautiful places in nature I would love to be. And at that point, I'm in between. There is some sort of dreams going on in my head, these fantasies, but at the same time I still know where I am, because I feel what I'm lying on and hear my surroundings. Those keep me grounded in the now. That's kind of what it is. Does that make sense?

Do you have any moments where you feel like I do in my fantasy worlds, where you feel relaxed and truly happy? Can you describe those moments to me?

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I think it's very special that you write these letters, and though I understand your reluctance to show anyone, I hope you will rethink about being ashamed of them. Of course you can totally feel ashamed, if you feel like you should, it isn't bad to feel the way you feel, but I want you to know that I think writing these letters is such a raw, open-hearted, beautiful thing you do. Especially because you decide to keep and reread the letters. It's such a special thing to do, I don't have words for that.

That's a funny thing, because you sound like you're very good in understanding your feelings and emotions and writing them down. Together with describing the looks of my characters, I have most trouble writing emotions. Especially my own. I feel lots, but I never really understand which emotion I'm feeling. When emotions are bad, I feel like I want to kick something, and I usually cry. But this is when I feel sad, tired, mad, upset, betrayed, everything. And when I feel good I just want to show it with my body and move in all the ways I like! But that's when I'm happy, excited, joyful, in love, thankful, it's the same thing to me really.

How do you differentiate, if you want to share, between your feelings? How do you feel after you have written them down?

I like the last thing you've said, that the sadness over the years has left you, but that the pleasure has remained. That's beautiful. I totally stand behind you keeping the writing all to yourself. Just like meditating, it is for YOU. No one has a right to what you produce for you.

Hey, no embarrassed emojis now here! You don't struggle with English, you're learning English. And learning, taking energy to acquire a skill, improve yourself, is ALWAYS a good thing. And I can understand you fine. And if I wouldn't, I will ask you to rephrase instead. The same you can do with me laugh

That's being mindful too, by the way, using phrasing that is being kinder to yourself. An example of what a person very dear to me once said to a girl who was depressed. She said he meant so much to her, and to many other people who suffer from depression. And he said: "No, no not suffering. You're dealing with it. Actually, if you're here, right now, you're a depression conquerer." And I love that. Because it made her sound like a winner, and not like a victim. That's speaking kind to yourself, and very mindful!

Going with the flow, and conversing in English anyways, because you feel like you want to meet people, is such an admirable and brave thing to do. I used to be nervous about my English too, when I just started learning. I wasn't as brave as you then!

I totally agree, I like it most to dance on my own so I can just let go. And wow, that's such a cool thing that you are learning indian dances! And no, that's not a confession, that's just a cool thing to tell me! I hope you enjoy it very much. What do you like about it, why did you pick this genre of dancing? Is it because it has that background with your family?

Here I am heartThis time I am late but I have acceptable excuses :) I will be going on vacation in following weeks and not sure how much it will last. So there will be delays in my replies but I will have more topics to tell.

I wanted to show you that gift because there was a baby seal in a aquarium chasing a little girl who is running around the aquarium so fast and changes her direction suddenly to surprise the seal. Both of them seemed so enjoyed each other and never feel tired while playing :) You got it wink

I have read some books about meditation before the ones from indian Gurus but I forget what i learned or not felt the same strong affect by time because of not practicing. In my case while being busy with some stuff or other times struggling with anxious feelings , it becomes harder to stop for a while and rush those excessive feelings and refresh. Seems like with practicing , patience and being decisive about meditating will increase our power to push those feelings away or change their direction into creative e and fantastic way. That's why when you describe your meditation moments I am so amazed and admired . Also I really like when you tell smt that you experienced and share excitingly with me. Do you know your energy can be felt through the sentences? Even if I am not into the topic I can listen you for hours because you are enjoying and living those times again while telling. That's so special I think. Also talking about these makes me inspired rather than forced to practice meditation. If I do It , it will be a great gift that I give to myself .So I hear you, I will do it just for myself.

It must be hard also a bit irritating writing all again but I hope you haven't missed any word from the previous one :) In this kind of situations I take a deep breath, open a favourite song and write again quickly. Because I know if I postpone then re- writing it will be more struggling. It is also interesting I like my second trials more then previous one after finishing. I love listening songs also without lyrics while reading books . It helps me to focus on more and imagine the writings. It seems moving meditation also my type. I am really wondering how many types of meditation exists :)

About dancing. It is my sisters interest , I am just accompanying to her. We don't have have background with India but their dramas and movies makes my family trait like an Indian sometimes smileyThey watch a lot.

You asked my fantasy world ? Well.. I am not controlled at all and mostly I feel like my headspace is conquered. But I can try to describe you the times when I feel more just like real me and combine your two question about expressing feelings and my fantastic worlds through how I observed in myself.

Imagine a family who tends to hide their problems from each other. Parents hide problems not to worry children and children hides their feelings or struggles not to worry parents. This is the point where unsend letters started to be written also. Some times blasts happen like you said kicking or breaking something or crying secretly but then goes on the same way. So those unspoken words and unnurtured feelings cause a storm inside while seeming a calm and okay person from outside. By time I realised poetry and art is a way to express those hidden feelings and words by metaforic way. People who writes poetries and make arts inspires me because they seem like a calm sea , never gives a clue how much deep they are and discovering them never ends. They dive into their inside worlds, meet and accept their realities and serve them in an original way.They see the beauty in usual things .When I read or watch something about their works i feel relaxed , trully happy and understood. Then i say to myself "Okay it means I am not weird at all , just dont know much about myself or as you said I don't know how to create my special fantastic worlds by using those feelings like an alchemist." When we manage this then we will prove that all of us are unique and special just being ourselves.heart

Thus I can say I dont feel like I am good at expressing my feelings , more like a closed box , but when i get their reflection from others then I able to sort myself out. Probably because of your cool vibes , i am trying to be more clear about myself and this give you that idea about being good at expressing feelings. Also sometimes I steal some words from others but don't remember from whom , If I remember I prefer giving references smiley

We are not suffering , we are experincing and dealing with. This is also the reality but by forgetting or when cannot convince ourselves about doing it , then we give up. I should remind these sentences more to myself. Also this part of your writing made me realise you will be a great and supporting teacher who is mindful about others struggles and always have great motivations and explanations for them not to feel themselves weird or untalented. I can't wait to see your those brilliant times ^^

Recently someone recommended me to think like an animal when overthinking starts .That time the first animal come to my mind was "being a bird". When I imagine to see world from a bird's eye then my mind stopped and I enjoyed by that sightseeing. Oh it seems it was a mindfulness trial :) So I loved this lyrics so much it is like "guided "part of mindfullness and says "To enjoy more try to imagine this lyrics"
Probably you are feeling like a bird in cage when you skip your fantasy world because you are in love with your wings and freedom.This is such an attractive and likeable side of you.

Sometimes I note some quotations , advices or poems down to my special notebook too. A few months ago while I was reading my notes again , I found one of the sayings of Audrey Hepburn that I noted in my teenage times. Reading it always gives me nice feelings and validation. Here it is :)

Oh come on, lets not do any excuses here, we're friends! We reply when we can because life is busy and I wouldn't ever want you to put things aside or loose pleasurable you-time because you feel the need to message me. This is all about us having fun and enjoying our time together!

I hope preperations for your vacation are going well. Are you possibly even gone already? If you are, I hope you have the most wonderful vacation possible.

I've been away for a little while because I was having a surgery on my knee. The recovery has been going well, but it is very tiresome and somewhat painful. It is alright do. The surgeon has very skillfully resolved the problem I had and I feel so blessed that after my recovery I can finally use my knee and leg fully again smiley

I love the interactions between humans and animals. We are not so different from our animal friends I believe, and it seems that especially children don't see the barriers adults see. They give me hope that one day people will see that the differences between people (their culture, language, religion, skin colour, gender etc.) are not that much of a difference either. That we can still interact together and live in harmony. I mean, this little girl and the seal didn't have anything in common (not their language, the way they move, the way they look, the way they understand each other) but they can put all that aside for one thing: they want to play together. I just love that.

You know what they say, practise makes perfect, but also remember that not every solution works for every single person. If the meditation doesn't work for you, you can always find ways that do work and help you. But then again, if they did work for you, it might truly help you to start practising again. I know what it feels like to be anxious (I am prone to panic attacks) and to feel tired and drained afterwards. To me breathing techniques do help, but I can't sit still while doing them. I need to move. What I like most is just walking somewhere and put some music on that has a clear beat. That way I can step and breathe onto the beat.

Do you have any more tips you feel like they work for you?

I like that you feel energy through my sentences. Energy is something very... there within me. I live on energy, it's around me all the time and my emotions are very often energy. Again with the energetic colours I resonate with so strongly (orange, yellow, red etc.). When I tell you something, there's different speeds to what I type. Sometimes I type slowly and thoughtful, sometimes I type so fast I can hardly feel the keys underneath my fingers! And even then my mind still goes much faster than my fingers ever could move! So yeah, it's really funny that you feel like you actually get that, even though we aren't in the same room (heck the same country even) or write and read at the same time.

I want you to know though that I love your stories very much too. You paint these pictures for me that I love and bring them to life. You also have a very keen eye for the beauty of the world that other people might miss. Prime example is the story of the girl and the seal. I also truly love your connection with music. Music calms me down often, but it sounds like for you it does so much more, especially when you read. I really love that. The way you deal with frustration also sounds like something I could learn from. I'm more like the: scream and stomp my feet like a toddler kind of girl hahahaha.

I think there's many types of meditation, but since there isn't really any 'wrong' way to do it, I also believe that you can make up many more types!

I like that you have something you can do together with your sister, bonding is such an important thing within a family! I don't know many Indian movies though, they aren't that popular in the Netherlands I think. What are they like? Any recommendations? :p

I am shocked to hear you have so many surpressed feelings inside of you, but I really want you to know I do not judge you for having them. Their origin also is really understandable. It isn't like you can't talk to your parents, it's more you feel like you don't want to worry them. I get that. Still you are such an open and kind person, and I feel like you have your entire world under control and are really carefree. I feel priviledged that you want to share this with me.

I like that you feel this way about writing and art. When I read or see something the way you describe, it inspires me to write my own work, to dive a little deeper in that, but you have instant cratification from it. You feel relaxed, you feel understood. I love that. It sounds to me that instead of hiding in your own headspace, you hide in others'. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but that's what it sounds like. And I think that's beautiful, because all I ever want as a writer is invite people into my world and just let them roam there a little. Have fun or something, like I'm the owner of world's largest, most special, but invisible theme park.

But yeah, unique and special, that sums this all up really nicely. Because we are, and that's why we can talk about these things, because we both see the world in a different way.

Your way of expressing yourself is very beautiful I think, and very unique to you. Don't ever try to change that, I love it about you and I feel like even though you think you can't describe them that well, I do understand you perfectly. Because sometimes you don't really use words, but you use images, situations, stories or metaphors, and I just try to think of how I would feel in those situations you describe to me. And then I get you anyway! It's just your way, and I translate it to my way, so to say laugh

I feel like blushing when you say you feel I'll be a mindfull teacher, because that is exactly who I want to be. I feel like school never takes mental health into account, and that it has hurt a lot of people in the most important years of their lives! I'll not stand for that as a teacher, I'll help those kids in the way I, and many others, weren't helped.

Oh aren't birds beautiful. I love birds so SO much but I think you've already noticed that in all I've said. I like that exercise, to think like an animal. Because animals are all about their instincts. They worry about survival, their own good and that of their families. Nothing more. They don't stress over school or work or what others think of them. I think that's such a good strategy to stop overthinking!

I suppose I kinda am like a bird in a cage sometimes, but I have noticed that there's escape found into more than just my own headspace. My headspace is like what the sky is for the bird. He can be totally free there, completely himself. But sitting on a branch of a blossoming tree in spring, well isn't that a beautiful thing for the bird too? Those moments I have too, outside of my headspace. I feel like that when I cycle for example, when I practise yoga, when I have a carefree day with my friends.

What animal do you think you are most like?

Audrey Hepbum's poetry actually made me tear up slightly. That is truly beautiful and very mindful too. I have written it down in my very own notebook (because I have one too smiley). In turn I'll share some of the quotes and poems I have in there too! I'm really bad at references so these quotes can be from everywhere, tv-shows, poems, lyrics, anything. Some I even made up myself lol.

Actually, I can maybe share those later with you. I just opened my first notebook, and I found a poem I'm not sure off, but I think you might connect with it. It's maybe a little painful, I hope not too much. I hope you like it.

Hey againn ! I have read your post a few times and at every reading I felt better ,brighter.. It has been like a gift when i need to hear anything from any person .
As you can see our messaging turned into sending letters and i am so blissful about this situation . At least they are not unsent and there is a person who is caring every word of it. I can describe myself as a closed person but when it comes to writing I suprise to myself a lot how open I have been. So thank you for being there and making me feel these missed feelings again...

You got surgery on your knee ? I hope it wasn't a serious thing and after surgery it totally been okay.. I have a little bit phobia to hospitals especially about surgeries . Their recovering period can be painful and requires attention a lot. I am so glad it went well and problem is solved but please take care of yourself more until your leg's get totally well💜Here I am leaving you a bouquet of DAISIES as a get well soon flower to help you recover faster :)

I love animals a lot too also love people who love them. As you said we have a lot to learn from them about life . Which animal I relate my self most ? It would be bird as a first one ,maybe seagull ? Before my vacation I was really yearning for seeing the sea again and watch it for hours, listening wave sounds and smell sea breeze. Guess what happened ^^i had been sailing for hours and there were only seagulls around as a living creature :) Recently I read a quota- (btw I am glad we think same about giving references ^^) -it was like " the birds don't trust the branches because they know they can be broken unexpectedly.. they trust their wings. " As much as their wings are healthy they can fly and protect their own beings. Isn't it a good lesson? I also like crows ,they are so clumsy,conscious and funny. Whenever I watch them they put a smile on my face.

But then I remembered my online friends here ,our conversations gives me a perspective how similar we are when we open our inside words to each other and talk with our hearts. I ensure myself again that i am interested in humans not in their covers. So we are the same . When this love fill the blanks among us then take us to unity. It doesn't surprise me at all such a nice and lovely person -also mindful ^^-like you think the same way .

You asked my coping methods for my anxious feelings ? As you said breathing helps me too.Especially nowadays I have been practicing a lot . Also while planning anything i try imagine the results, learn about people who experienced same things before and promise myself not to feel weak while walking on that road whatever happens. Sometimes it works . It might be about remembering-forgetting topic as we talked before . I don't want to forget. Those notebooks and underlined sentences of my books helps me a lot to remember...

I really liked your energy doesn't matter if it is yellow or orange :) For example I read some of your sentences so fast it just flows while on others I get slower . So I can imagine in which mood you are writing ."Scream and stomp my feet like a toddler kind of girl" haha omg I cant even imagine what can be the next step of this little crazy girl :)Seems so cute but everyone would look for a place to hide :)
By the way have you read My Sweet Orange Tree book? There is a little emotional child there named Zeze who believes he has a little bird in his heart that always sings. Like the one who flies freely in your headspace :) He also has no boundaries while expressing his innocent ideas. If you haven't read I am sure you will love it ..

While reading your sentences I remembered this lines. You are really looking at me ,seeing me and asking main points. It is also so lovely to see myself on a brightful and shining mirror. I am sure anyone can realise this when talking with you. I wish for you as well ..Please never change the way how you are .

Well I am asking to myself if I really have been as lier as told in those lines . Most of the times maybe yes. This is a station which most of us sometimes come across. Also it depends on whom to talk I think. I have met some people whom when I looked their face i read these lines. And I also realised how I seem .I could sacrifice most of my time to put a little smile to their face or little bit peace to their heart. Then I realised I have some great people who can do the same for me. So I can say I let those people to touch my feelings because I trust them. At the times when i have been away from them ,I run to my notebooks and reflect those lines again. I am not sure if I able to explain .. it is more like a station where I sometimes been but not stay so long. You said you felt like that before ? Do you want to share how you overcome it ?
Woah I think this time i exaggerated writing a bit ^^ I am still planning to read other threads in forums too and tag you when I want to learn about your ideas about those topics. Still planning :)

I'm so happy that you are willing to open up to me this freely. I feel very much the same way as you, but just knowing that you feel this too, makes me feel light as a feather. Daring to be so open, like there aren't any walls between us, makes me feel free.

I like the letters too. I feel like I have lots too tell you, so not having a wordlimit is really nice. I'm also so glad that your words don't have to remain unread, you know. They are important, so important. So they deserve to be known by others despite yourself.

Thank you for being here, for opening yourself up to me the way I have been to you. It has given me so much happiness.

My knee is luckily much better. The surgeon has found the problem and fixed it, but it is kind of like a broken bone now. I have to be very kind to my knee and give it lots of rests. Then, after six weeks (next Friday is the last day of those six weeks) it should be all fine. Of course I have to build up my muscles a little again, but over all I'm good. It has been a practise of patience for me. I can be very restless. My physical therapist gave me the idea to start swinging though. That way I can move my entire body without putting any weight on my knee. The weather has been kind the last couple of weeks, so I've done lots of swinging outside.

You will probably not believe it, but daisies have always been my favourite flower. I love their delicacy as well as how they are so prestine. Is there any specific reason why you picked those? Or did you just secretly know they were my favourite? wink

Seagulls are beautifully graceful. We actually have a lot in the city where I live, because it is close to the sea. Most people find them a nuisance there though, and I understand why. They are large birds, larger than the normal birds that live in the city. So they have access to a lot more food, because they chase away all of the smaller birds. They become fatter, start stealing fish and chips from the vendors on the street and such. Those are not the seagulls I like. I love the ones on the beach, that spread their wings over the sea, dive for fish, and sometimes, when the winds are strong, they simply float with the sun on their wings. So peaceful and still, always there, like the stars in the sky.

Funny story, my last name actually has 'crow' in it. Translated it's Crowfield.

I feel very much the same thing. I love learning about different cultures and other people, but through that learning I sometimes forget that all these people are also still just that: people. We can focus on the beautiful details that make us all different and individuals, but we never should forget the big picture, the larger frame, in which we all fit. Because we all have similarities too, even if all people want to focus on lately are the differences.

I do think when speaking online it is easier to notice the similarities though. I do not know what you look like, in the beginning I didn't even know what country you were from. All I got to know were your words and thoughts, and many humans share those thoughts and feelings. Especially the emotions. We all know sadness and anger, but more importantly joy and love.

Thank you for sharing your coping methods with me. I think it is important to share those among one another, so we can learn. For everyone they may be different, but sometimes we find new ideas from other people. I think I want to start writing down important topics and quotes from our conversations too. I don't want to forget either, even though I know they are safe here on 7Cups. And I think I would feel better if I could take your words with me where I go too.

Hmmm not everyone would have to look for a place to hide if I get angry. You wouldn't have to, of course. Just the people who made it bad enough that I am angry with them wink

I have ordered the My Sweet Orange Tree book now actually, because I too think I would really like it. It's gonna take lots of time for it to get here though, it is not that populair of a book it seems. I'll be ever impatiently waiting. I think, no I know, I'll love it smiley

I really want to elaborate on that quote you have "she looked into my eyes but not to see herself. Just wanted to see me." Most people want to see themselves in a person, simply because by nature we humans tend to be very self-involved. We always think about us, even when we don't necessarily realise it. But to look another person in the eye, and forget all about what you want to see in them, but just see what is there, completely from an objective point of view, well that's a little magic all in itself isn't it?

Well, then this is our promise I suppose, let us try our hardest to remain how we are now, unless a change will truly and solely be a change for the better. Lets also promise ourselves never to judge ourselves, or the other, when we can't do it. Let us instead help one another. I promise you I will help you, always. And I promise I will share special things with you, the way you share them with me.

I am glad that you can somewhat find yourself in my poem, but on the other hand have your own story. That is very important. I had the feeling we could relate through some of the feelings in that poem, and I like to read that there are people willing to sacrifice their time to make you smile and feel better. That is so incredibly important. One needs to have those in their lives. It reminds me of another poem I once wrote. I cannot remember all, but this is a part of it.

"I look at the world

through my eyes opened wide

Believing all they say

pretending they never lied

And though my eyes narrow

After every scar they make

I keep up the dreaded smile

Just too much at stake

But when it threatens to break

After another bad dream

My heart still remembers

I'm part of a team

That's the most important part to me. The team-part the family part. And it doesn't matter if they're family by blood or by bond, they're meaningful relationships, and they give you as much of themselves as you give them in return.

I really want to share how I have overcome that feeling. I opened up is what I did. I finally realised the world wasn't such a hostile place after all. There are people who are willing to help, I just had to talk to them, I had to tell them how I felt, because know one was going to guess it for me. I had to open up. And I did. And I found kind and compassionate people. They didn't want my 'happy lies' they wanted the painful truths so they could make it better. And they could help me feel better. From that day on I have taken it upon myself to tell others that they can be open with me too. Which is why I wanted to share that poem with you. I know where you've been, I'm here to accept you.

"The words which deserve to be known by others despite ourselves" It can be really hard to share anything from ourselves since we mostly be tricked by our feelings and mindset. Like being afraid to face our real being. Thanks to beautiful people who never cares our walls that we built around our Self ,they infiltrate to our world by their lovely and compassionate being and take a seat in our heartheart

Yesterday was Friday. Thankfully your six weeks rest period is completed. It must be painful... Hopefully by time you will able to move it freely. Swinging sounds as a great idea especially for a person who likes flying ^^ I hear you when you said you have been practicing of patience a lot and been very restless. Once I read smt like if we try to keep ourselves away from a profile of person then we will come across them until their being doesn't make any difference on our mood. It is a like a quiz we need to complete to reach upper step.Same as those people, some events will teach us how to handle , be more tolerable and smooth our ruffled feathers. Life brings some hard quizzes in front of us within lots of wisdom and pleasure hidden it but covered bitterly . Most of times -especially illness cases- we cannot escape already so better to dwell that bitter medicine of patience and get recovered not only with a healthy body but lighter and wiser human side. By this way first we manage to comfort ourselves then we learn to comfort others. After all our words will touch hearts and make difference. Because these words are alive , comes from a awaken soul who experienced pain. Like yours.
Oh you loved my daisies^^ Spot onsmiley I hope they are still alive or have you dried them between pages of a book? Why I chose them ? They give fresh fragrance ,reminds upcoming spring, healthy days also symbolises pure and innocency. It is not hard to reach them. Also you can use them as a fortune teller or make a crown when feel bored smileythese can be count as reasons but while writing I just felt you will like them.
Your opinions about seagulls made me giggle laughThey steal fish from vendors and get fatter ? That's shame on them! They are not my favourite neither. I was thinking about the ones that like white stars on blue sea as you beautifully described.
Have you been sailing when you were in Istanbul ? We generally throw bagels to seagulls while they're chasing our ferry. When we throw bagels they pick pieces up on air while racing to each other even sometimes they can eat from our hand . Children to olds everyone enjoys doing it .
It is so heart warming to read your opinions about differences and similarities as being human race.The ones who listen the voice of conscience will be agree with you.
You surprised and make me happy by ordering My Sweet Orange Tree immediately . I am so glad you will meet Zeze and I believe too you will love him. It is a book that I read in one of my busy times at busses and while reading sometimes giggling secretly or staring at same page for minutes thoughtfully. He has that magical look and fantastic headspace as well.
I see your bonds are so strong in your relationships especially with your family . This gives me an idea about you might have experienced hard times together or they might be so devoted on your growing up journey. I hope your all dreams about them will come true. As growing such a mindful, beautiful and lively girl ,they deserve the bestheart
And your poem. I loved it really. Reminded me lots of things. Event's projection on our souls can effect our eyes' brightness and break our smile. Recently a friend surprised me by saying "you seem as a calm and relax person but when I look at your eyes I see anxiety." Until that time I never realised such a thing. If there are people around whom can realise even our eyes' brightness change then this is one of the things we should be grateful about.. when happenings be so hurtful and staggering it becomes so hard not to change in negative way and stay how real we are. At these times people like real friends and family but most important of all our faith and hope becomes a shelter until that stormy weather change. It seems your headspace and my shelter makes similar affects.

Your poem remind me these quote from my current book:
