Change your thoughts, change your world.
This is the reality of life to me. I am a computer science major and I have this view that our brain is programmed with thoughts we think repeatedly as well as the memories we create as we move forward in life. These memories and repeated thoughts create a model of world inside our complex brain and then new situations are handled according to this model.
Long story cut short,
Just change your thoughts pattern and your reactions to situations will change and in turn it will bring major changes in your life. That's the matra which worked for me. and It just keeps working :)
I love this idea motoko! I have come to believe that our behavior is a result of how we organize and think about our past experiences. Life always presents us with new situations that we've never encountered before, and we are capable of such ingenuity in solving problems and thinking around corners. We are truly able to make change in ourselves and our situations in life. However, I also think that for some more than others, it is difficult to change a habit or a way of thought, and sometimes you need others' help to move forward in the direction you wish to head toward.
@incredibleUnicorn24
@motoko what you think is the first step in moving on from a break up in over four years? It's hard to stop think about it and letting go
@ChangeS
Simplest way is to talk to a person about it. When you share your thoughts to someone whom you trust , you neutralize their intensity. I have done it myself and it works magnificiently. I tell other people how I feel and explain to them how I think and doing that I reduce the intensity of the emotion I feel. and isn't that the idea of 7cups ? :)
i widh i could have the perfect mind
but i dont
@mindtalk Don't we all. But that's the thing. There's no such thing as a perfect mind because that would imply being born complete & having no room for growth or purpose in life.
@motoko I love this. Your perspective just made my day. I see things kinda the same way & love when someone gets it
IMPORTANT UPDATE
When I wrote this post my understanding was limited. I want to update that emotions we feel are also as important as thoughts. For a long time I was in a phase of emotional denial that's why never looked at that point of view. My big sister opened my mind to them. and Now I realize that understanding ourselves emotionally and connecting right emotions with right thoughts and experiences is a better method. Because brain is biological and works on reinforcement learning.. and for it emotion act as reward. ^_^
