Meditation on Belonging
Hi all of you,
How are you doing? I thought I'd share something that I do and share with others that I work with. It's a peaceful way of finding out what makes you the person who you are. I hope it's helpful :)

Meditation on Belonging
Sit in a comfortable position with a pen and paper ready. Focus on your breathing and consciously bring your attention to it. Follow your breathe with every inhalation and exhalation. Notice the sensations in your body as your stomach rises and descends. Feel how grounded you are to the earth, connected with your breathing. If any thoughts arise gently remind yourself of your breathing and focus on it.
Then in the stillness of the moment, allow your mind to focus on the phrase, I belong… and focus on whatever comes to your mind if its an image, visualise this intensely and take notice or perhaps you want to write something down that comes to mind. What does the belonging feel like to you, does it bring up any significant feelings or thoughts?
Now bring your attention back to your breath, and focus on the statement, I was made for… and note down whatever comes to mind. Spend some time with this. Notice all of the sensations you feel or any particular themes that come to you. Now sit with both phrases and write down whatever comes to mind without judgement or fear. How long is spent with the things that bring you joy… too much time… not enough… or is it just right? Perhaps you have got so many people, places, feelings, thoughts and other connections written down or perhaps you are feeling like there is nothing on the paper and nothing coming to mind. Do not let this put you off as this is a starting point for you!
Peace it does not mean to be in a place where there is no more noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart - Unknown
