Some things I like to do that help me stay mindful are:

-Do some deep breathing

-Close my eyes and listen to some music

-Walk around without headphones or earphones in

-Taking a minute out of each morning to notice what's going on outside

@globalForest88

HI Forest good to see yousmiley I like the things you mentioned here. Deep breathing, closeing eyes to focus on the music, walking and noticing everything around you. Wow that is so mindful!!yes I'm so impressed on the things I am reading here you say-as well as others on mindfulness things you are all doing so far. Ive got a big smile right now. Forest what kinds of music do you like to listen to?

@RumpleSteeleSkin Haha, the type of music depends. I used to really listen to symphonic metal and Swedish musicals when I was a teenager (lol) but now I listen to the Fun Home soundtrack, ABBA, and acoustic music. Weird mix, I know. But I spend so much time amped up as a result of PTSD and work stress that I need less stressful music.

Hi! I'm looking forward so much to be in this sub community!

For mindfulness, I like to just relax each part of my body. I'll explain. First, you sit down on a chair, comfortably, with your feet on the floor, and your hands in your lap. You can lean back, sit up straight, or slouch, but I find leaning back to be most comfortable for me during this exercise. Also, make sure you don't have any music or any distractions on. Then, focus on your toes on your right or left foot. Do they hurt? Are they sore? Are they tense? If they're tense, relax them. Then, check in with your whole foot. Relax it. Keep going up your leg, then do the same with the other, and up your whole body. Just, relax everything. Also, focus on your breathing. Keep it even, and not shallow. In through your nose, out through your mouth. You can close your eyes during this relaxing exercise or not, it's up to you. :)

Normally this takes me up to five minutes. Afterwards, I feel really refreshed!

I know few of it but not well, I guess need to learn deeper. The skill that I started feeling comfortable and getting used to use it automatically is focusing on my breath to give back my focus! And yes, I will check the posts. Thank you! smiley

I'm teaching my nieces to be mindful of others feelings one has this really unhealthy habit of laughing at others for their misfortunes and bragging about the things she has so I'm taking what I've learnt from here and real life experiences and teaching them mindfulness, compassion and empathy 😊

@astray

Hello there Astray nice to see yousmiley Wow that is wonderful you are teaching your neices on these things. I think the by teaching our young ones on being compassion, showing emapthy and mindfulness things is a great thing!! So if we had some mindfulness posts on this would it help you?

@RumpleSteeleSkin most definitely in fact it would be a huge help Rumple, it is more easy with my 6 year old niece as she's already more giving and compassionate towards others I guess it is just in her nature but the 7 year old it's a bit difficult as she's a bit of a spoilt brat & was never really taught to share because her mum spoils her and never turns them down when they ask for anything. I feel that being that one parent would discipline her and teacher her these things and the other does not whenever she goes to visit for the weekend it confused her so it isn't her fault, but it also is not ok for her to be cruel towards others either. So, her father (my brother), her grandmother (her mum's mum) and I are all working with me on project mindfulness and compassion we do things that grasps their attention being that they're kids so anything that you all share that'll help with us teaching them to be more mindful and compassionate would be extremely helpful.

Hiya! New to this subcommunity, joined a few days ago but haven't introduced myself.

The mindful thing I do every morning is watch the sunrise, taking into account the morning smell of the flowers and trees and soil, the sound of birds, the colors in the sky or reflected on the houses. It's a great exercise to start the day :)

@IPreferWinter

Hello Winter good to see yousmiley Also welcome to the mindfulness community/forums!!!! woohoooo!!!

OMG can I join you in mornings with a cup of coffee! Something about sitting in the morning silence with the sun coming up, sounds of birds and animals moving about, and the flowers and grass smell..................it just is a wonderful mindfulness skill that helps alot. Nature to me is the best mindfulness to do. That is great you do this in the morning times.

@RumpleSteeleSkin Hello i'm doing good with recovery process and another therapy ahead :D I have several problem such focusing and anxiety after accident. And sometimes hard to understand words and I'm worried alot about many things. So I want to improve that :D

Last time I joined Mindfullness discussion and it helped me to be eased and focusing. I'd like to practice and get to know better about Mindfullness so I will be able to be aware about my surroundings and help me to be focus more about my present moments, which i think it will help me to fix my anxiety and focusing problem. I think this is the right time for me to exercise as I don't have many things to do during recovery process cause i can't move a lot. So i will have plenty of time to learn and improve :D Cheers for team and all members here <3 You guys did a great job!
