Mindfulness Daily Check-In December 17, 2017
Hey, everyone
Today, lets briefly talk about an important mindfulness attribute: Trust.
What is trust? Trust is having the confidence that people, things, and situations will become what they are meant to be and unfold at their own paces. This means that we dont need to rush or wish people and situations to be a certain way because we believe, for better or for worse, that we will be okay regardless of what the outcomes of our relationships and situations will be.
It is challenging to hold the belief that we will be okay regardless of how situations and relationships pan out. But, the more that we can trust in ourselves, knowing that we will be okay, no matter what happens in our lives, the more we can trust other people and situations. As time goes on, we can trust in our ability to meet whatever life throws at us.
If you feel comfortable sharing, how can you practice trust today?

Hi,
I am glad that you brought up this issue within the context of mindfulness. So many times we put labels on the day to day ups and downs of life. The reality is that something that we perceive as bad or negative (such as the loss of a job or a transfer to a place to we dont believe we will like), may actually turn into a very positive experience. We simply dont know what the future holds.
We have to trust in this moment and know that what we perceive to be a negative event is impermanent by definition. We do the necessary things to plan for a joyous future and many times the path will take us in that direction. We have to trust that things will work out and attempt not to ruminate on the negativity.
Most of the time things actually do end up being far better than we ever imagined.
@Compassionatelistener108
Hey! You are so right in that we don't know what the future holds, and when we try to make predictions, they can often be negative or pessimistic in nature! You raise a great point to keep an open mind (having trust) regarding the future and all of the different possibilities. Thank you
@EmunahHere
Thank you for the reminding me that our future is truly open to the possibilities ❤️
I trust that i will move on with my life and be happy again
I guess I won't.
@PurpleNina
But I trust that I will be alright. I must admit that I have huge issues with the topic.
@PurpleNina
Hey, Nina
Building trust with regards to anything takes time and can be very difficult, especially when we've been hurt so much or have experienced so many negative events in our lives. I hear you, but I think it's great that you are taking steps, no matter how small they seem, to build trust in the fact that regardless of what happens, you will be all right
@PurpleNina
I am sorry you are feeling down, Purple. Remember, we never know what the future holds. I hope that yours is filled with positive things. 🌟
Its been very difficult for me to have trust lately since some bad things happened :(
but I've been trying to find a little light in me to keep it, and I hope my life improves in general!
@brainybrainy
I hope that your life improves, too, and that you keep the hope that I see in your post ❤️
@EmunahHere thanks!!
Trust. I wanna trust that things will be ok. I mean, they will. I still exist. Day by day. But i want to trust that things will get better and back to "normal"; this is where i have trouble. Trust is a big issue for me. Not so much my trust, but by accident i violated someone elses trust. She trusted that i would understand a situation. She trusted who i was. Well, this was when i realized i had something wrong with me, because i took her wrong and blew up at her. It was a panic attack. I didnt know it at the time, but thats what it was. It was. It my first, but it was when i found out that i had them. I hurt her heart. I broke her trust. I broke her heart. So, how does one win trust back? Especially if she refuses to talk. She thinks i am something i am not. And because of trust issues and accidents, i dont get to prove who i really am. Trust? Very fragile. I don't trust its ever gonna get better.
@PerfectStorm426
Hey, Storm ❤️ Im sorry to hear about the panic attacks and what happened to your friendship. It is hard to trust that relationships will take their course, whether thats a relationship that repairs itself or ends itself.
We all make mistakes and break trust to those whom we care about because we are human ❤️ I think whats important is that we trust ourselves enough to know that no matter what happens, we will be okay. Our relationship may never recover or be what it once was, but that doesnt mean that we cant live our lives to the fullest and continue to be the best person that we can be. I know that this is easier said than done, but I hope that you can trust yourself and forgive yourself for what happened between you and your friend ❤️ We can not control others reactions or decisions in our relationships, but we can control ours. We can learn from our mistakes so that we can build better relationships in the future 😊
@EmunahHere. Thank u very much for the reply. I gotta fix this all some how. The fine line... she is in an emotionally abuSive relationship. Stays fir her kiddo. Cause i lashed out at her, she lost a regained trust. And i let 2 people down. And i gotta live with that every day. Theres way more. But id be up 2 days from now typing. Today was long enough. But i thank you very much. Hugs to u
Trust is something very difficult to do for me. Especially trusting people.
I do try to have more trust in myself and in the world, in a 'whatever happens, happens' kind of way. Whenever I feel like I've been let down by everyone or everything, or I feel like the world is being unfair to me, I tell myself this:
"The universe has it's way of course-correcting."
What it means is that whatever you might do, whatever you might try, there is a certain way things were planned to go all along. If it's by God or Karma or something else, it doesn't matter. But it is going the way it should. And maybe you can hold of the inevitable by doing a certain thing, eventually it's all going to end up the way it was planned.
This thought calms me down. It means that when something bad happened, it wasn't necessarily my fault. Nothing I would do was going to change the outcome anyway.
It doesn't mean that you gotta stop trying to change things, because maybe things are supposed to go right in the end, and you are supposed to change it that way. So never quit, but don't feel guilty over things either, because 'The Universe has it's way of course-correcting'. It was meant to be.
Does this make sense?? I feel like I just rambled a ton, but oh well, my mind is like scrambled eggs anyway
@EmunahHere
Ello Emunah what a great post today-tank you
Sorry I have not been around much, my life is a bit busy right now with the baby elephants as well as their den area-lol Trust and mindfulness hmm...how can I practice this???
Well to be aware how I am feeling on someone, like do I feel calm in the inside to share certain things, or take a bold step? To trust another some times is very hard, but not impossible. I can be mindful of how I am doing in the insides, as well as how my brain and thoughts are. To check in with myself. Also to hug myself when I do this and tell myself good job!!!!!

Thanks for the great reminder!
I'll try to 'pump up' my trust regarding the appointment at the doctor's on the day after tomorrow. If it turns out differently from what I plan/hope, hereby I declare trust that it'll be still good somehow :-)
