Step into the Garden of Mindfulness
Welcome to the Garden of Mindfulness!
Hello Mindfulness Community, I hope that you are all having a lovely day. It's been a long while since I've posted an icebreaker activity and I've been wanting to share something creative for everyone to join in with.
What is the Garden of Mindfulness? This is your own personal headspace, somewhere you can relax and feel completely at peace. Gardening can be linked to mindfulness as many people find it can be a great way to connect with the world around us, reducing our stress and anxiety as well as making a positive impact on the planet - and ourselves!
I thought that today we could think about what we would like in our own Gardens of Mindfulness: identify three key features that you would include in your garden, and tell us what they symbolise/mean to you!
I'm really looking forward to reading about what you'd have in your gardens! I've posted an example of what I'd choose below. Take care everyone :)

My garden of mindfulness is a place where everything is allowed to come and happen. It is a dynamic place, but in essence empty, dark and peaceful. The things that come to visit in consciousness are the ones who are dynamic and made of light. I realize that even higher beings need to be heard, noticed and listened to. I am happy to give this space to them as I am happy to give it to members here.
Strawberries and all kinds of berries under the shadow of a fruit orchard, a heaven for kids.
@peppermintlove What a lovely thread, well done!
My late mom used to garden every weekend. She definitely had a green thumb and I think gardening was her way to "get away" and be more mindful of the present and be in touch with nature. It was a beautiful thing to witness. And she was such a strong, positive person, I know it definitely was helpful to her mental health even though she was strong to begin with hehe.
For my garden, I would like a small pond with a few ducks in it, because I love water (would be able to feel it's coolness) and I love watching animals and ducks are so cute hehe. I would try to be mindful in this space by touching the water and listening to and watching the ducks hehe. I definitely would also like privacy and quiet because I'm pretty introverted and can get easily distracted. People can wear me down and I feel most at peace when alone.
In my mindfullness garden
Lavender to relax and de- stress
Roses to breathe in the beautifull scent and be in the
Present moment.
Buddlea to attract beautifull butterflys to symbolise
Freedom of choice. If you dont spread your wings
