mindfulness and tattoos? Opinions? :)
I think we all heard about the semicolon tattoo and many many others to help people cope (and spread awareness) with mental illness.
Now I'm the type of person who can't imagine having a tattoo. However after alot of thought I realised would be VERY helpful.
I struggle with daily panic attacks and depression so looking at it would help me alot.
Would allow me to practice mindfulness aswell. Telling myself "I'll be fine, you know this eventually goes away. You are worthy, you are beautifu, your life isn't over because you chose to keep going like this semicolon".
Does anyone have a semicolon tattoo? What about any other tattoo that helps them?
Also is there any stigma you guys heard of tattoos? My parents hate them sadly. Thankfully I'm 22 so I can get one anyways.
@Booklover95
Hey have you ever thought about getting a bracelet or a ring? I got a ring from ebay to keep my mind centered when I began to stress out, it really helped a lot. I'm not a fan of tats myself, not that I have anything against people who get them, but I have heard my share of bad things that come with it risk-wise from doctors and people with & without tats themselves and well, I rather just use something else lol. I use skin markers too which kinda helps more because it keeps you mindful of why your putting it on there ya know? but that's just my thoughts. Everyone does their own thing, some things work for some while not for others. I hope you find what helps you!
@Quietone8717
I never thought about jewlery but that's a good option.
Do you know any place where I could get some?
@Booklover95 you can actually get it at pleanty different places, I got mine off of ebay when I looked under 'promise rings' because it was a serious promise I made to myself. Im sure you could find just about anything for little cost too, i've had my rong for about 4 years and I only cost me $6. But whatever would be better for you, a bracelet, a button, clip, anything. I began making my own jewelry cuz its pretty easy and u could commission someone to make you a jewery piece with the image u want too
Hiya! @booklover95
The semicolon is a lovely, meaningful tattoo. I think I'd consider a small finger tattoo with it on perhaps in the future :)
A friend of mine has the infinity symbol tattooed on his wrist to symbolise hope and never letting go. These little symbols can remind a person to practice self-care and to always have hope <3
Jewellery is a good alternative: things like reminder rings and bracelets are great to help you remember mindfulness and other things.
Thank you so much for posting, let us know what you think of doing

Have you heard of henna tattoo, they are temporary and safe!
And as other people mentioned, you can opt for jewellery.

@Booklover95
Hia Book good to see you again
And thank you much for being bold and asking this question. It really is a good one!
Tbh I think it is a personal choice to add a tattoo on your body for whatever reasons they are. Some I have seen even tattoo of their babies and those who lost a loved one. Some it's a serenity bird for recovery. So I guess I turn this question back to you. Are you mindful of the tattoo? Are you aware of what it represents for you? Tattoos can encourage others as well. So these are my 2 cents on this

@RumpleSteeleSkin
:o your tattoo looks so cool! Although I have no idea what it is haha, is it ok to ask what it represents?
Also thank you for your sweet answer. I am mindful of it yes, just unsure when and where to do it.
@Booklover95

@RumpleSteeleSkin. What makes it a mindfulness tattoo?
@yzzil
