Mindfulness Exercise: Journaling
Hello lovelies! My name is Jet01 and today I would like to talk about one of the many different ways to exercise mindfulness; Journaling.
First off, how is journaling helpful? Journaling allows us to express our feelings in ways that we often aren't able to share with others. It is a safe space for you to write about how you are feeling, and how your day went. But not only does it provide a safe place to let out your feelings, it can also help you to keep in mind the positive things in life as well.
How could it help with evoking positive feelings? Well, this has to do with how you decide to journal. There are many ways to journal but one general idea is to write out your feelings, all of the bad things or just everything about your day that you would like to get out. Then once you have written about that, have a set amount of good things that you want to write about. Because this is at the end of your journaling for each day, it forces you to recognize that there are good things too. A good starting place is just one or two good things a day, and the goal is 5 or more. Now, some days will be harder than others to come up with positive things, but over time, it will become habit to notice the little things during your day to help you stay positive.
I hope that this is helpful and if you have any questions feel free to respond to this and ask. Please feel free to share your journaling experience, and any other tips or ideas what have worked well for you!
❤️
