A lot of times our perception of reality can be inaccurate and at times that perception happens to a defense mechanism or just plain denial. Sometimes it's arrogance, or sometimes it's "i've managed so far doing the same thing i'll be fine" even though the "managing" was barely being able to perform and drowning in anxiety but you keep avoiding the issue because it kinda works out anyway.
What was something in your life that looked easy peasy lemon squeezy but was actually difficult difficult lemon difficult?
@zealousGrace5023 I really like the way you asked the question hehe! 🍋
I think finishing college was harder than I realized. I was a science major and I wanted to quit so many times because it was really hard but I knew that I wanted to finish as a science major, so I just did my best and got my degree! 💪
@fruityPond7887 haha thanks
i underestimated college too lol
thought i'd just sail through
but college means more responsibility that falls just on you along with the independence and it becomes hard to manage (at least in my case)
self regulating is hard with adhd lol
but have started learning to manage it and it's better now
@fruityPond7887 Congratulations on your degree and pushing through
@zealousGrace5023 Thank you so much! ❤️

In response to your question, my mind went immediately to both mindfulness and especially meditation.
On the surface, to me, they seemed like pretty similar concepts and easy enough to put into practice. But I learned (just as with any other habit) that you really have to keep chasing after it everyday to stay with it.
I would say mindfulness has pretty much stuck with me 24-7, but it's meditation that often eludes me. Which is too bad, cuz I know the benefits of both (they're pretty much tied together), and they have been life-changing. I just need to continue making the time, everyday. :)
