Impulsivity
Hi, everyone. First off, I'm new here, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I guess, what I'd like to start off with is, how do you deal with feelings of impulsivity? What coping strategies/methods do you employ? For context, I've got ADHD and have battled with sexual addiction, along with developing unhealthy alcoholic habits as a coping mechanism. I'd like to start learning new things to prevent any further damage to my relationships and myself. Thank you so much, again, for taking your time to read this!

Hi and welcome! It sounds like you have already started....the first step is recognising we need to change/get help. And to ask these questions.
Have you found any answers yet? ADHD can make impulsivity a challenge, and a bit of extra work than for many people. I find a routine helps, I have lots of lists and checklists. It takes a lot of effort to make myself stick to them (and to not spend too much time making new lists every time I feel bored or distracted 😁 ). If you live/work with others you might be able to ask someone to help with that.
For addictions it helps me to get anything addictive out of the house (alcohol etc) as well as triggers - for example, not going to place or doing activities that lead to the thing (ie. sex).
These are just things that I find helpful. There is some good info here:

There are sections for addiction, ADHD, and other things.
