Not being able to study at all- please please help
Hi there! I'm in my final year of high school and despite being an average student, last year I focused hard on my academics, it's just that suddenly I have no motivation to sit and study. I try, it's not like i dont. But, it's like everytime I take too long or i dont understand, I breakdown and cry. It just makes me feel like giving up and going to an average uni. I also have my exams going on, but nothings working out at all. My parents don't know what to do, they've spent a lot of money on my tuitions and are trying their best to push me, but I just can't. And I just keep comparing myself to other people and how well they're doing, I really wanna stop. I want to get focused on just do and not think. But nothings working. Please please help me if you can.
Hi, @modestDime3140
I understand where you are coming from and the situation is quite relatable for me. I am also preparing for an entrance exam for Master's. I'm continuing my studies after 4 year of long pause so I am stuck in a similar place. Either I spend my whole planning or if I try to study, I don't understand a word.
It might be a study slump. Just remember "comparison is the thief of joy". It must be very difficult for you as I, too, tend to compare myself to other people. It can lead to burn out. Continuously trying to get yourself to do something that you feel like you are failing to do can cause a lot of stress too.
I'm sure you will find your way through it. Perhaps, taking a short break and doing something that you like to do might help? It might help you freshen up and feel unstuck.
