Dream Big

Hey Peace
Thank you for sharing this thought!

Personally, I don't have a lot of people physically in my life who can help with this, so one thing I do is try to keep track of people online who do inspire me--and try to avoid the people in my real world who don't.

For real.
There's a saying that goes something like we are the sum (or close to it) of the three or four people that are closest to us in our lives.
As I've aged, I've realized that, whether I'm consciously aware of it or not, the people that I spend extended periods of time around really do have an effect on me.
And while I also realize that that is a natural thing, my personal value of being authentic to myself can be (and has been) tested by being influenced by other people. There've been some hangouts that I've returned home from where I've had to ask myself "Was I truly and consistently being myself last night, or did I get caught up in the conversation and people-please a little bit?"
Because as a recovering people-pleaser, it's something I've had to watch out for.
But yeah, all of this to say that I agree with you; we gotta surround ourselves with people that will lift us up and allow us to be ourselves.
@exquisitePeace7976 True. Supportive friends are so important. Thanks for shaing!
