Thoughts on new Beatles release?
I am a huge fan of the Beatles. I listen to them nearly every day, and never gets old. Today they released a "new" single, Now and Then. My initial thoughts are it's not as good as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song, but I didn't feel like it was on par with their other post-breakup releases (for example, Free as A Bird). I could understand why the initially scrapped the song, despite the technological issues with the poor quality of tape recording of John's vocals. Perhaps the reason I didn't think it was on par with other releases was because I heard the early recordings of the song through bootleg recordings on youtube.
That being said, it was definitely cool to hear how well they restored John's vocals from the tape. I hope you all give it a listen! Looking forward to the release of the remixes of the Blue and Red albums coming out soon!
That's so cool that you like the Beatles! In my opinion music nowadays is just garbage so I only listen to old songs. They are wayyy better. I haven't listen tôt his song yet but now I'm curious and wanna listen to it!

To each their own, as they say! The newer music isn't for everyone, and the older music isn't for everyone. Despite what my parents try to tell me haha!
For sure! Don't let my own criticisms of the song discourage you from giving it a listen. It's a good song! It's pretty amazing that it came out 54 years after the breakup of the band.

Honestly, after listening through the song more thoroughly and watching the short film, I can say that thee song has really grown on me. I honestly think that this song, however sad, is an amazing final song for the band. There are so many hidden snippets from their older music throughout the song. Some that I have yet to discover. Keep your ears open for them!
