OCD?
Hey, this is my first time doing anything like this so I'm so sorry if I'm wrong. I was wondering if anyone could help give me any indication as to weather I might have ocd or not. I get these horrible intrusive thoughts that disturb me quite a lot and I have these things that I have to do to 'fix them' . I am terrified of germs and wash my hands very frequently to get rid of any germs on me, I can't even kiss my mum on the cheek with out having a huge panic attack and backing out if the idea. If something is out if place I need to fix it to make it right or I find myself panicing. I have 100% convinced myself that I am a horrible person, with one of the main ones at the minute that I'm a bad person for even beginning to think that I might have ocd. I think I'm probably just being dramatic but I feel like this is taking over my life and I have lost control. Any indication as to weather I should continue looking into ocd would be helpful, thank you x

This surely does sound like ocd, but it's important not to self diagnose.
I would encourage you to take things one day at a time and focus on changing your behaviour patterns.
Doing these actions less and less until they have not as much control over you as they do now.
I hope you get the support you need.

Hi there,
I’m sorry you’re getting through this difficult time.
I’ve been diagnosed with OCD at the age of 15 but I had signs earlier.
Your experience sounds really close to OCD but I can’t encourage enough to see a professional to get a proper assessment and diagnosis (and treatment).
You’re not a bad person for thinking about having OCD, we are not responsible for our thoughts but for our actions. You’re not dramatic, you’re going through something very challenging and you’re starting to feel the weight of it…
To end on a positive note I assure you it gets better with proper treatment.
Hugs
Hi there
I highly recommend speaking to professionals about your symptoms like doctors
I myself have experience with diagnosed OCD, I urge you to reach out for help the quicker you can.
I just want to say you are not a horrible person and potential OCD has a way of being a cruel monster in the driving seat. None of anything is your fault, and everything you’re experiencing is valid. You are not crazy or being dramatic. I know it’s just words but I would use them as affirmations if you ever get intrusive thoughts.
Please take care of yourself and I hope everything works out for you.
Whether— not weather!! Weather is rain, sun, etc.,,, and you are NOT A BAD PERSON!! — TRY TO STOP TELLING YOUR SELF THAT because a lot of people have intrusive thoughts. It doesn’t make you a bad person in any way! I’m not a doctor but it definitely IS sounds like you have intrusive thoughts like tou said, along with the fear of germs. Make an appointment with a doctor and get a diagnosis which may be OCD. Could be something else but no matter what it turns out to be, YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON.
