Struggling with intrusive thoughts and anxiety

Hello there! Im gonna put a ”TW”

I’m reaching out because I’ve been struggling with intrusive thoughts and anxiety for several years, and it can feel really overwhelming. I often worry that I might have hurt or disappointed people, or made someone angry, even when nothing has actually happened. I also experience intrusive thoughts about worst‑case scenarios, like accidents, serious illness, or death affecting me or my loved ones. Sometimes I feel a strong urge to act or “do something” to prevent bad things from happening, which leads me to check things, plan excessively, or move quickly as if I need to stay ahead of something.

I find it difficult to stop my mind from replaying situations or imagining everything that could go wrong, and I carry a lot of guilt or responsibility for things that aren’t really within my control.

I’m trying to understand what I’m going through, and I would really like to connect with anyone who has experienced similar things.

Thank you for opening up and being so vulnerable.

It's not easy to speak about things at times.

But I admire you for doing so 💙

It can be so heavy to just not be able to switch off and continue to worry about things , out of our control.

Listening to music helps me not to overthink.

Focusing on the present day helps me not to overthink.

Journalling helps me, to just get the words out, takes some of the weight off 💙
