Finally a funny OCD story

Hi,

OCD is not a funny ailment and if you ever see cartoons or things on it, it is usually to denigrate the sufferer and mock him/her. This story is amusing because it is not a nasty story about someone else, it was something I did, and how far I was willing to go, not to skip a shower. I do have obtrusive thoughts, and having things lined up and facing forward are biggies too for me, and have the pictures on the wall perfectly straight is another thing I do beside being a total germaphobe and showering anywhere from a low of 2 to a high of 5 maybe even 6 x a day. I don't do the checking over and over. I also wrestle with a 34 yr ED and BPD.

The plumbing had gone in my house and my father was having trouble getting someone over and since the tenant flooded the basement, he had to shut the water off in the house. He told me I would not be able to shower.

You may as well have told me Nixon was President again, I was in shock and a bit of panic.

Why let a little thing like having no water and no shower stop you ? Did not stop me - I went downstairs to the backyard, with my trusty plastic bag of soap, shampoo, puff. I put the hose in, took my towel off, plopped down on the concrete step and had a shower sitting down ! Where's there a will, there's a way ! ( the neighbors may have seen a few things they would rather not have, but who told them to be looking out of the window at midnite ??!! )
