I resent my OCD, help?
Hey, I'm new here and this is my first time posting but I want to talk about my experience, and hopefully get some advice to help me carry on. Last year I underwent a mental breakdown, which caused my very mild OCD to become full blown. That in itself was extremely stressful, I was just about to enter 11th grade, I was in full dual enrollment, with a gpa of around 3.5 unweighted. I had already started picking out colleges. I feel like my OCD ruined everything. Besides all the traumatic experiences I underwent (including the mental breakdown, being baker acted, and a nurse there telling me they thought I has psychosis, and enduring very severe OCD to the point I barely ate slept or went outside) I had to quit dual enrollment, and go back to regular school (once I had been properly medicated and felt a little better) and struggled to pass with all the mental stress. I got almost all Ds my 11th grade year, with a C and F as well. I feel like my chances of a good college are out, I know there are other options or ways, but I lost a lot, and colleges won't look my way now. I went from being one of the best students in my school (top ten) to one of the worst. On top of that I still have OCD to deal with, now moderate though. Can anyone share a story? Or give me any advice or reason to keep trying?
Just because you have a mental illness don't mean you ain't able to reach your goals, you hit a wall in life and you have been knocked it's natural don't doubt yourself, you may not be able to walk the path you initially intended so you work around it, you can find a new route or smash through and continue, you shouldn't give up on your dreams 😊, dig deep and you'll be surprised at what you can achieve
Hello and thank you for sharing your problem with us, I myself am a patient of OCD since 5 years and have gone through some really bad experiences, becuz of my problem my family has started to hate me , If I start a argument I am told that I am mad,I am continuously compared with my brother and other people of my age group,because of my ocd things have gotten worse but as u asked , my answer is that keep on playing your part ,don't stop making efforts and ingnore all the people who say bad things to you because they can never understand you, nobody except you can help you come out of this problem, things will always get worse before they get better just don't think too much and continue to play your part ☺ .
I'd just like to say one more thing to the both of you. don't treat your ocd as a bad thing, find a way to use it to your advantage although the world seems same it is still a huge place don't hide or run from who you are, we are all unique in our own ways, I suffer with depression and have done for many years and i was scared of it for some time, but once I embraced it my life changed for the better I still have bad days but who don't, let the world see how amazing you can be
@Bear222
Bear222 what you said is true and for all of us we must not think that we are any less capable then others in this world, we all are equally capable of achieving greatness in our own ways , everybody is sucessfull in his or her own story, everybody faces problems and problems are a part of life they are responsible for making us a better and stronger human being.
Hi.
I'm one of the best student of my school.but when i took admission in the college everything was suddenly changed.when i was in school i always get good marks.i was a topper of my class.but in college all things suddenly changed.i did not have any friends in college.i did not likethe subjects.i did not even talk with anybody for months.i sometimes used to bunk the lectures.i was topper in school but in college i always get less marks.because of that my confidence level is decreased.still i got First class in 12th. now i'm doing graduation.and i like my new college.i like the subjects.but still i'm afraid if something went wrong,if get less marks then what will happen?what i have gone through in past i do not want to repeat it.im always in tension,i want to make everybody happy.i want my parents to be proud of me.i thing i have ocd.whenever i'm giving exam always check my Seat number more than 3times.if i forgot to check it then i'm Always in tension what will happen if my seat number went wrong.after the depression of 11th ,12th,i cant not afford any mistake.i do not want to live like this.i do not like to be always in tension.but i'm always in tension.

Thank you to everyone who posted, and thank you for the support, it means a lot especially when the world seems against you. I've decided to keep pushing through, I guess fake it till I make it. And thank you for sharing you're stories, I love hearing them, and seeing that people can make it through, and seem happy too, it gives me some hope. I'll try, but I'm so worried for those future bumps in the road....
