Hey I'm thinking I might restart my penpal group I had a while back. Would you like to participate? I'll wait for your response before I make it
If it's on 7cups I don't see why not. You can totally add me. Hope all is going well today
@agreeableSkies9889
Siiick. Uh it's ok. Drama with my uncle. He's mad that I'm skipping video game night to watch my 7 year old nephews championship baseball game.
He's not very self aware. Not to make excuses for him he should know better. He kind of has anger issues too. Sometimes just because you can be mad at something doesn't mean you should
Hope the baseball game was fun!
I've been trying to do stuff but I have extreme anxiety. I work and stuff. I thought about buying Metallica tickets for later this year. My therapist wants me to be more social and I've thought about going to a comic convention but I'm really scared and extremely overwhelmed. My family doesn't accept or even know who I am so it makes it hard definitely since they're very family oriented.
@agreeableSkies9889
Comic convention sounds cool. I haven't been because it's too expensive. My friends try to get me out to the renaissance fairs but there's a dude that goes with them I really don't like. Metallica is cool. One of the first bands I really got into
Do you have a fav Metallica album by chance? Mine will always be Ride the Lightning. I hope I get to go
@agreeableSkies9889
Not to be that guy but Master of Puppets. Damage Inc and Battery were way ahead of their time and still really good. I used to be able to play Master of Puppets on my bass but that was back in my teenage years. Ride the lightning was great too. For whom the *** tolls I could also play on my bass. Obviously ride the lightning is a cool tune as well. Fade to black was also pretty awesome. I listened to it a lot of time inebriated in my teenage years
If you go to the concert you'll be able to hear them perform Ecstacy of Gold which is siiick. It was always the opening song from what I hear and for a while you could only hear it if you went to the concert.
That's so cool. I could play Master of Puppets, Fade to black, One, and Nothing else matters on guitar but it's been a while since I played covers and I haven't really played anything in 3 months.
My all time favorite songs by them are
Fade to Black
The Four Horsemen
The Unforgiven II
Battery
Where I may Roam
Fight Fire With Fire
I play bass too btw. I love Ecstacy of Gold because I'm a big fan of The good the bad and ugly! And Clint Eastwood movies ingeneral
@agreeableSkies9889
Nothing Else Matters is great too. A piano rendition was playing at my step brother's funeral. We lost him 3 years ago in a motorcycle accident. We were close. I still cry over it
That sucks.
Most people in my life have deeply hurt me and I honestly don't know how it feels to be loved or close with someone so I can only imagine. I know how hard it can be to find someone to be close to 💔
@agreeableSkies9889
That's pretty rough. I have a lot of people around me that love me and a lot of people I love. It's the most profound of human emotions and I think it's one of the most important things in life. You're young still so there is more time but being loved and loving others is more important than your career or a fancy car parked in a fancy house's driveway. We're all bubbles just ready to pop so don't be afraid or wait too long to find love
That's good advice! I've thought about being more honest about how I feel with people. I'm just really scared... I wasn't treated very well growing up and the few friends I had made fun of me...
Tw: if assault bothers you
I was sexually assaulted by a neighbor, and my friend when I was a kid. My uncle has also harassed me and some people at work have also harassed me off and on.
I was neglected as a kid and not allowed to go to school... My parents wouldn't let me talk to therapist as a kid and didn't want me to be tested for autism. They didn't believe me when I told them about mental or medical problems I had as a kid and my family constantly made fun of me.
I'm learning to meet new people but it's so hard to unlearn that not every adult wants to yell at me and make fun of me.
I'm really struggling with anxiety but I get out the house now which is good! I used to stay inside the house all day everyday and didn't even work for like a year, I had no friends and my family was fine with me just rotting away in my bedroom. Life's been getting better but it's been such a hard fight.
@agreeableSkies9889
Wow, that's awful but thank you for sharing with me. I couldn't imagine what that's like (so I guess I fail at empathy here). I'm fairly confident that most people are generally pretty friendly and you just had some really bad luck. There are some really big jerks out there though, I know it. The best thing you can do is keep the good ones around you. A good support system. If you're constantly around people who are being a jerk you're going to think that everyone is a jerk and not want to be around them. If you are surrounded by supportive people you're going to be like "hey. I guess people aren't all jerks" and it will be easier to be a part of society. That's what Smacky says at least. And Smacky McGee knows best
