Feeling a little nervous with the privacy change banner that popped up when I logged in today. I read over it. Maybe the data collection has always been like that. I’m not sure if I understand it all. I don’t know if I want everything I’ve posted on here to be connected to my name, email, and shared with 3rd parties. I probably should have used a burner email when I signed up. I don’t know what to do with this information.
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas I think that they have always collected some data, to some extent. I skimmed through it and I know that I definitely don't understand it all. I haven't clicked accept yet though. I do think that you can change your email address though, if that would help you feel more comfortable.
It's my understanding that you can also use a VPN, although I'm not sure if that would help much.
@mytwistedsoul I did click accept, I didn’t even realize I didn’t have to. Maybe I will change my email., that’s a good idea. I do have a vpn checked on my phone, which phone is the only way I log on. So maybe I’m ok. I don’t know much about the vpn, I just checked the box for it a while back because it sounded good. 😂 Oh gosh, I’m a mess. Thank you Twist. ❤️

I do type things but then don't post them lol it's mostly cause when I'm replying to you, I sometimes want to share and then say a lot of nothing. I’m just going to vent here if you all don’t mind, because I think you will understand. ❤️
I signed up for therapy here on this website last Friday. I’ve done a lot of therapy, but it’s been years since I’ve felt like trying again. Recently I’ve really had the urge to share with someone. The therapist they matched me with seemed really nice and qualified. He let me know they don’t talk over the weekend, which I expected and was fine with, and that he’d reply to me Monday. By Wednesday I’d still heard nothing. I had already shared my basics with him. I had been pretty excited to start Monday, and by Wednesday I could feel that I was retracting my vulnerability. I wrote to tell him politely I was going to go a different route, and a couple days later still no reply. The last time I logged in I just saw the whole chat had been removed. So now I have to go through the process of getting my money back. I’m sure that will be fine, it’s just very disappointing.
Also on Friday, I reached out to a number of listeners. Because I really hadn’t been doing well that night. It seemed as if as soon as I wrote, their light would go from green to red. One got back to my message a few days later, apologizing and saying they’d like to set something up later that day. I said that would be nice and kept checking back in, but they never showed. That was a couple days ago, and never heard anything still.
I didn’t feel comfortable connecting to a random available listener, so I tried to search for ones available who had good reviews and matched my topics. I’m sure it’s all just a timing/luck thing. I don’t think I said enough for anyone to even not like me, yet. 😅 I’m super frustrated, not with anyone because I don’t know their situation, but that the desire to finally talk got stuck. It’s like a knot in my voicebox that won’t come out. I imagine trying to talk to someone now if they wrote me, and I no longer feel the desire, even though something still feels stuck. I don’t know what I’d say. They’d wonder why I wrote in the first place, because I’d say I don’t really know. When I get like this, everything gets fuzzy and I forget what my thoughts are.
I know some of us have talked about listener issues, so I’m just, I know you care and won’t judge me. ❤️ Thank you for reading.
@PiecesOfWhoeverIWas That's a big step you took, finding the courage to try again. And the way you responded when the other person didn't hold up their part as a professional is praiseworthy too.
The disappointment is understandable and it's okay to not jump back into it so soon. Take your time 💙
The idea that sharing about yourself or talking about your issues would make you less likable, is just your brain trying to slide back into the familiarity of the time where you had to carry everything on your own.
You are likable and you hold so much value, no matter what you are dealing with in life 💗
I hope one of the doors you decide to knock on in the future, is opened by a warm, comforting individual who's there to listen and understand. And you'll always have me as a friend too, reach out whenever you want, even if it's just to share the not knowing.
