hugs my poor little Pizza... Nessa is laying down in Sweets' favorite spot, and Akira keeps staring at me like she's trying to ask questions
I wonder if animals understand death.
Why did she die? Was it the anesthesia?
Was it the picture that made you notice her eye?
They definitely do. Akira's younger though, and Sweets always acted motherly towards her.
We had to put her down. Basically it's an abscess that forms from an infection in back teeth, and it caused a lump that was pushing out her eye. If the teeth were pulled, and the eye and lump were removed, she could've technically make it... But it would be thousands more dollars, and the chance of her making it past a couple months would be low... And the chance of her having a good quality of life beyond that would be way lower.
And, no, it wasn't the picture. That was taken a year or two ago. That's just my favorite picture of her.
I wonder if Nessa will take over that role.

How did you notice? It sounded like it was sudden.
Who knows? Nessa was always more the mentor. When Akira first got into the cage past a separation wall, Nessa was trying to say hi, and show her everything in the cage. She's since taught Akira all her habits and ways, the good and somewhat naughty ones both.
I don't think she was in too much pain... Not until later in the day. And the passing was quick. It was really really sudden. I came in singing to them just yesterday morning, lettuce in hand, and I saw that her eye looked like it was swollen and maybe injured.
Sounds like she’ll be a good mommy to Akira. <3

I dunno, I've always been a fan of walking and exploring. Maybe some hiking. If it's just at home or something, exercise is always a thing.

You've been invited to Herby's Happy Derby, where everyone wins!!! Buuuut, I don't actually know what they do there. I feel like I'm waiting for a chicken to cross the road. Like, it feels pointless, but there's logic and momentum. Perhaps even birdseed...? Speaking of that, I take little tastes of some of my dog's and guinea pig's treats. Honestly, I've had worse snack food than most of it. I just gotta know what I'm really feeding them, y'know? I think one of them kinda tasted kinda like Chikin in a Biscuit crackers, or however you spell that. Do they still sell those? I remember that I just had to try them in elementary school, because the girl I crushed on liked them. I wonder whatever happened to her... Not enough to look probably. I can't really take Pepto... It just turns my tongue brown and nasty tasting and it doesn't have any good effect on me.

Lots of people have that reaction, but I get it worse than most. Usually I have to deal with antacids or nothing. Eating veggies can help.
