I feel like I messed up today
How so?
I went shopping (a friend picked me up), and I spent way too much money. Only because I wasn’t sure how long it would be until we got the car back… I cringed at the total.
It happens. Will you at least use what you bought? Make it an investment if you can. 😊

Same. I bought a zoo membership, so I guess I'll be going there more often. I got to be just on the other side of some glass from a black bear when I went this weekend. So much curiosity and kindness in its eyes. Someone was holding a baby too, and the bear seemed to be in awe of it. Also, there was a red panda that I got to watch eat. It was so unbelievably cute, and then it looks so hardcore while it's chewing.

Georgie went to a very strange event. All kinds of things we're happening, and they were as weird as possible. Someone was spitting eggs at targets, another person was trying to cut fruit with a spear. Some people wearing sunglasses and suits started crawling around and letting people pet them. A lot of people showed up. The hosts were so kindly though, so he didn't mind the people being weird. The hosts cooked everyone roast beef and carrots, and handed out goodies with smiley faces drawn on them.
Georgie asked the hosts why they hosted stuff like this. They simply said, "We're all weird, aren't we? There's no shame in it, and there's no reason we should have to hide that all the time." Georgie felt wiser, and more comfortable.

That's an interesting one, what do you think about it?
I think... It makes it sound as if faith is the only way to live correctly, which is nothing new for the Bible. And... It also cautions basically that other sources are out to deceive us toward a vain, greedy, lustful, wasteful lifestyle. It's true that happens a lot, but, I see deception from sources claiming to be Christian much more often. It's not necessarily the kind of pop culture deception that might be more directly sinful in a wanton sort of way... But it's almost always a deception of hatefulness and close-mindedness. I feel like most of the time I've spent in church services is listening to these preachers push the agenda of their own political values. Thats not good for people like me who want to hear the message without a bunch of useless commentary that we don't agree with... But I think it's even worse for the people who do agree. I feel like church should be a safe community place for people to actually work on their own selves and their own relationship with a higher power, to learn, to improve things. Instead, they just get to hear what they want to, feel like a better person for doing so, and then turn around and live however they want, so long as they can come up with excuses for it (which is probably always.). It would be different if people could truly be taught to challenge beliefs, for growing their character and faith. I wish I saw that being done more.
You're different than that, and that's why I can talk to you about it. There are plenty of good Christians in this world, but I feel like I've mostly met ones that I could do without. But when it comes back to the Bible... Do you remember much that warns of deception from places claiming to be Christian? I'm literally asking on that one, because I know it's at least mentioned that most men aren't fit to speak for God. I don't remember much else on it though...
