A Christian friend, a male, offered me rides. Told me to ask for rides if I needed them. Now says he doesn’t want to be alone with me so he can be above reproach.
That is such a red flag on multiple levels. I'd stay away from him.

He's either got a lust issue or he's gone more extreme into religion... And I feel like going that route gets really misogynistic really quickly. Well, both do. I strongly feel like it's the guy's responsibility to get through that sort of thing rather than blaming women and making them feel uncomfy. I'm not saying he did that, but it sounds like he's not far from it

I’m used to the second one. It hurts like heck every time. I get the well-meaning stuff behind it (I’ve been around churches for 30+ years), but it still feels like a painful rejection every time.

I feel like it has to be both, and yeah, it is painful. I feel cautious about people who are Christian because of that sort of rejection. Like, I was talking through my former friend's asinine wall of text of his issues with me, which basically consisted of things he refused to bring up normally, but he said "I feel like God is telling me that I shouldn't be friends with you.". I pretty much cut myself out at that point.
Misogynistic... Hmm, ok, example from that same friend. I guess there were girls in bikinis sunbathing at the park. He had the nerve to tell them something like it made him uncomfortable for them to be in bikinis, and probably being judgy. It's like, dude, it's a public place, there are no rules against it, you don't even know them, and they don't have to share your values. It's not exactly what your friend did, but not far from it in the sense that... I mean, women are more than just objects of men's desire. For any guys that can't handle that, they need to, well, grow up. I would imagine it's generally painful or uncomfortable to hear things like that from men, as a woman.

Yeah, why can’t dudes keep their eyes to themselves? I was actually just talking to Mom about changing something about what I wear, because I get stares and comments and leers a lot. (Men are gross.) And I am already INSANELY modest to the point of ridiculous sometimes lol, partly because of men being gross in the past. She told me I shouldn’t need to change stuff just because men can’t control themselves. And she’s right… I shouldn’t have to change me because they refuse to change themselves.
Did you ever hear what the Duggar boys do around immodestly dressed women?

I agree with you and your mom, you shouldn't have to change anything at all. I mean, I check girls out, but I don't want to make it weird or uncomfy for them. It's rare for me to say anything about them, but only direct compliments if I do. I don't stare and leer... Just taking a little eye candy from strangers and minding my own business. 😂 I think that's kind of the way that girls usually check guys out, isn't it? It's extremely rare, as a consequence, when I can even tell that I'm being checked out. (Even if I perceive it, my self-conscious mind tells me otherwise.)

Going on vacation, starting in... About 5 minutes! Going to Shreveport for a couple of days

Shreveport is in Louisiana. I made it safely. I ate at a place called The Blind Tiger, and it was super good. Had some blackened catfish, jambalaya rice, meat pies, gumbo... 😋 I love Cajun food, and there isn't much of it where I live. One insanely good place and that's it.

Lol, yes, and I know why! (They had a thing to read). During the prohibition, some places put stuffed tigers in their window, to let people know that they could drink and gamble there. These were called "Blind Tigers" because the tiger was turning a blind eye to the activities there.

I dreamed... A really weird dream. I was sneaking around some hangar at night that had spaceships in them. There was no way around some guards (they were in their underwear for some reason) so I made friends with them somehow .. and then somehow, I ended up inside one of the spaceships with an ex girlfriend. The song "Blues From Down Here" by TV on the Radio was playing throughout the entire dream.

Tonight I dreamed that a bunch of people here at the hotel were having to group together, and a lot of us kept being murdered. That, and my friend was showing me how fun it was to hit these bags of clustery snacks (maybe they were popcorn strings or something) with some big weird spongy things. It wasn't that fun to me, because I mean, it would be just like hitting anything with a sponge... but he was having fun and laughing maniacally.
Random memory unlocked… Went on a trip with some friends, and a few of us wanted to sleep in one room in a cabin. The room was too small for all of us though, so one of the girls decided to sleep in the little closet. We protested lol, but she was delighted to do so and insisted. She loved it! <3

Lol, bruh... I remember things like that. I used to go on vacation with my friends, and one of them was wanting to sleep in the bathtub, and I'm like, no way, someone is either going to come blow up the toilet, or someone's going to wake you up by turning the water on. Either way, you lose. 😂

How can I both be attracted to men and absolutely disgusted and repulsed by them at the same time? Like… I’ll daydream about dating a guy, and then after a bit, the memories and disgust and wariness hit… Idk how this even works.
The attraction is natural, and the other part is from trauma. I don't know how to get the daydreams to change, but it's definitely possible to have a much better real experience with someone than what you've been through before.
I have too many feels, I binged and now my stomach hurts, and… idk. :(

He makes fun of me as a person, not really about my beliefs. He’s constantly negative, talks about wanting to start fights (like physical ones) just for the sake of it. He’s just into a lot of really bad stuff and very angry and hateful.

The physical fights, he definitely needs to understand is never going to be a mutual thing with you. That one's not ok, and the making fun of you .. is that one malicious? Either way, he needs to understand that one too. And what bad stuff is he into?
