Lol, sounds about right. We have enough chaos at mine that I'm trying to push a change or two through management. Luckily, my boss is the big boss at my location, and she worked her way up from my position there. So she definitely gets it.

She really is the best boss... But I've actually had some really cool bosses. I've had some bad ones too. I had one who insisted on doing an impression of the boss on Office Space all the time. And another one who wore a pink shirt, sunglasses on his head, and flip flops. Nuff said on him. 😂

Epically douchey maybe. 😂 There really wasn't anything good about him... I was kind of openly rebellious to him because I didn't like him or the job. I was like... 17 I think.
I’ve been blessed with a slew of mostly good bosses. There was the occasional one, but like 90-95% were really good. :)

Yo, I may have BPD, but I don't ever want anyone to feel used or abused by me. Mine leads me to more .. self-destruction. I'm tired of the effects of that haunting me too... So I've been trying to make myself a lot more functional.

Awright, so... What did you think when you read that? I'll start with a couple thoughts.
Even though it's totally possible this guy was an "atheist" who was convinced by these interviews, I find the biblical events more believable than his journey of thought. (Which also means that I don't discount said events.). That said, those were interesting conversations. Those first two guys he talked to were interesting at least.
None of the logic used seems totally sound, particularly concerning possible outside influences. I really don't like the guy's argument against the influence of groupthink or hallucination. I don't think that argument flies, but nor do I necessarily think that those influences were the explanation.
I don't like the quote that was something like "Christians believe because they want to, Atheists don't believe because they don't want to." I feel like it's way more complex. This may not be a point on the book, but it's still a point. I don't consider myself a Christian or an Atheist, but there's a lot of internal and external pressures to be either one, or adopt like mindsets.

He just becomes really quickly convinced by one-sided historical arguments. I think the first guy he interviewed was well-educated on it for what it's worth.
They absolutely can have similar phenomena. There have been dancing plagues, where entire villages (or at least one) had everybody start dancing and they couldn't stop. Check it out if you haven't heard about it. Also, in modern day we can see just how uh... Powerful groupthink really is. 😅 Sure has been taking off with that the past 6 years or so.
To be honest, it’s also a really short book lol. I’m sure The Case For Christ is a lot more intensive.

A form of mass hysteria probably, but that article literally says there's still mystery to it right? I know lots of things like that are possible, it just depends. Anyway, I don't necessarily think that's the cause of the biblical event of them all seeing Jesus.

No emotional toll .. I'm used to her being unbelievably accident prone. It doesn't make it easier at the time, but I'm just grateful she didn't fall and break her hip or something

Seems better atm, but her health changes without warning. I wanted to hang with Wazowski today, but I’m so itchy and Mom’s sick, so I asked to reschedule to next week.

I mean... Is it anything in particular with that?
Do you know what it’s like to see the terror in your mom’s eyes, the wild illness and fear, and in one moment, having to WILL YOURSELF to be numb and feel nothing, so you don’t have a panic attack yourself? And that numbness to go on for months or years to protect yourself?
Ouch. A little bit, yeah... Maybe not as much wild illness and fear though. That can't be easy. : /
I don’t know that anyone could understand…
You couldn't be alone in it in a lot of ways.
One thing I can understand... My mom has always been sickly throughout my life. Up until my late 20's it was due to her smoking. Now she's just old and can't get around much. I constantly tried to get her to quit smoking up until a certain age, but it was impossible to help her.
What's going on now though? Been thinking about you and your mom, and I hope it's getting better
