Me: Oh, don't jiggle around with ME! You're just trying to get to MY MOM, huh?! Just like everyone else!

Lol, I know right? You can't hear that and not laugh. I did that one to a second one too, and he went dead silent. I started telling them that they deserve better than their parasitic employer too. Next, I plan to teach them that the "deceased" button can stop calls better than the "do not call", and ask them to do it for me. When I was at a call center, I used that button all the time with living people. 😂

Can't, not won't. Wish I could, in a way. This is going to sound rough, but I had to free myself from making excuses for God, just like I had to free myself from making excuses for my father. It takes courage to do that, because I knew it was going to feel lonelier, but I'd rather give myself courage to look at an empty throne than stand outside and pretend the kingdom is intact. Still... It hurts, seeing things, and feeling like most things won't get better unless I find a way to help it along.

It's probably a good thing. It'll be good if you make it good, which requires boundaries. If you're confident that you can communicate and set those, I think you'll be on the right track.

Lol, I used to watch fireworks shows .. the funnest time is when i went with my friend's family and we were having a free-for-all war with bottle rockets and firecrackers. I also repurposed a pbc pipe to use as a grenade launcher for festival balls. 😁 Extremely dangerous and horribly irresponsible things, but it was fun.

Absolutely. 😂 The funniest part was when someone set off this big helicopter firework that was at least a couple hundred dollars. It zoomed in a completely different direction from what it was set, and headed straight for the trampoline, and there were like 4 people on it that jumped off at once just before it exploded there.

Lol, true. I wish I had a video of my friend's dad too. He was carrying around firecrackers and waiting for people to be distracted, then he'd just sneak up out of nowhere and throw them at our ankles, which does kinda hurt, and then he would laugh like some kind of goblin and run away

Heh, everyone was laughing mostly. I wish my family had been a fraction as interesting as his.
How so?
Like, his whole family did fun things, like firework fights, play video games, listen to good music. My mom basically just smoked and talked. My dad did cool stuff, but rarely included me. My granny and my grandma both gardened, so that was cool.... But my aunts all just talked my ears off, didn't really do anything. On my dad's side they forced me into naps and craft time, neither of which were interesting to me. On my mom's side, get-togethers were a little on the formal side - kind of a nice Polish thing, but my cousins were boring. We got to swim at least. And my grandma's house was beautiful. Almost no one in my family listened to really any music at all though, they wouldn't let me watch the shows I wanted, and none of them really played games or anything.
Basically, by the time of middle school, I was infinitely behind everyone else in terms of pop culture. I had no way to really access any of it.

Hm. Maybe. It's mostly been me and my mom. My experience with my other family members has changed since adulthood... It only changed in a good way with my grandma. Anyway, pretty much all of the ones I had much interaction with have passed away by now. It's a little surreal to be passed around households as a kid when my mom was always working. I was only 4 years old by the time I was feeling more grown up than most of my family... They always had stupid rules, got unreasonably weird about religion, and hung on to sayings and lifestyles that made me sad to see them stuck in.
Mostly, outside of that, I grew up in a dark house with my video games, my imagination, and my schnauzer Waldo who was like my brother. I had friends over all the time, or i'd either be dealing with loneliness or the kid two houses down, and you've heard some of the stories about him.

I work myself to exhaustion a lot. I mean, I'm trying to make time for work, learning languages, reading, writing, eating well/cooking, guinea pig time, yoga, kendo, strength training, jogging with my dog, and video games. And then some other stuff too!
Why?
I'm a restless warrior. I dunno, sometimes I chill, but usually I just want to sharpen myself. Keep expanding my horizons, make myself more interesting. I think I've grown more as a person in the past 2 years than the 36 before it. 😅

Heheh, true. 😅 My birthday is coming up too. I can't wait. Authentic German food and beer. We'll see if it'll be my only drink this year or not... I've been sober this entire year. I'm hoping that reverses what was going on...

I'm not worried about that... I struggle occasionally, but then I don't. I've proven capable of staying sober... I just want to live a little. I have my doctor's appointment in two days to see how my body is doing after this... I'll know sometime this week I think.

A mix of things… I feel little towards him. I’ve heard a negative way he acted towards someone. And today I heard him say something else, which, though innocuous, coupled with the other thing, gives me pause and reason to believe he may have anger issues.

Ugh, I wish I could say I was better. I inherited my dad's temper. And by the time I learned to overcome that, I had big outside issues to be angry about. As one of my therapists said, I'm "big mad". Too much injustice. That and I'm kinda moody in person. 😅 Sassy too. I don't know if all guys have those excuses though. I'm not trying to use them as excuses either... I just don't want to scare anyone with my anger anymore.

We have some commonalities 😅 but totally not. Me, for example... I don't necessarily have a type! I can be attracted to most girls on some levels, but it's intelligence and humor and attitude... Stuff like that attracts me the most. I think a lot of guys claim something like the latter, but I know mine is genuine.
What would you change about men if you could?
I always thought I preferred white guys, kept dating mostly non-white. So go figure lol

Lol, makes sense. I... Might have a weakness for non-white girls. It might be just the added fascination in cultures different than what I grew up in... It might be more than that too. But I'm a white guy, so I've definitey had more options for white girls.
That makes sense. I think it's important for us to hone reasonability and calmness. Men's anger can be scary.

Maybe. I dunno, I haven't seen a lot of white guys like that. Sometimes they might talk about it, but totally never date non-white. Part of it is genuine fascination for me, but also... I think maybe part of it is more biological or something.

Hm. It probably is scarier, but not because of that sort of unpredictability. A different kind. When I get that mad, I've already assessed everything I have to lose and just what the opposite person's greatest weakness is. I'll say something that deeply exploits that weakness. Whatever they come back with is sloppy after that, and I'll be ready. I don't like being like that, but if I'm forced to confront, my strategy is to have already won before I start.
