I did too, on Saturday. I'm having to be careful, I'm starting to end up getting queasy from food.

Right now, I'm just eating blueberries. That's at least something sort of similar, right? If I get really hungry, I'll have a glass of lactose free milk, and that does help.

Don't hate yourself, it happens. It's really hard to get out of these cycles, and our bodies just don't keep up with our mind's intentions very well. In fact, I'm proud of you for recognizing that you did and trying to make more efforts against it.

I know lots of people who do. I think Gen z does more than people realize. I will say though that not enough guys read, not by far.

Right? The guys in my main friend group... I think only 3 out of 8 of us actually read. One literally does take pride in not reading. 😂

I saw Minus the Bear in concert the other night. That was a really good show. 😊 I love that band, even if I'm not crazy about a lot of their songs. When they're good, they're really good.
What's their music like??
Hard to explain. 😂 I'd recommend to listening to songs like "My Time", "Knights", or "Lonely Gun" to get a feel for them. (probably in that order) If I mentally squint at it, they remind me of The Servant, though it's doubtful that you've heard of them either. 😅 Uh, they're not heavy and they're not soft either. It's rock, with lots of keyboard included, and the lead singer has a really calm voice with an upbeat vibe.
Compare it to Skillet?
Crickets. Lol
Err.. not very much like Skillet? I don't know how helpful it is to compare them. 😅 They might be kind of opposite sides of alternative rock.
MTB - has a vibe that's more chill and fun, even when the song is heavier and faster paced. Doesn't really do the self-empowerment ballads that Skillet does. Generally not very serious lyrics, but really cool when they are. A bit more indie, their songs tend to have keyboard parts that give them more individuality.
Skillet - more in-your-face rock or metal, has Christian themes or ones of struggle/overcoming. Much more aggressive overall.
Comparing the singers:
John Cooper of Skillet - more screamed and shouted lyrics, definitely has a more aggressive/serious vibe usually. Easy to tell what he's saying, clearer messages. When I saw him live, he acted like a comedian doing a bit between songs, which was a little hit and miss, and usually went somewhere, but he talked wayyy too much.
Jake Snider of MTB - he sounds so calm and easy to listen to, but it's also easy to tell what he's saying when he sings. When I saw him live, he was chill, witty, and had a good sense of humor. Talked to the audience a normal amount. He had kinda unkempt gray hair and beard. He reminded me of a character in a horror movie... Like, when the protagonist is running from whatever is chasing her, a door crashes open, and she thinks that's the end, but it's just some old guy pulling her to safety, who has been surviving the creature for weeks, and he has plans and weapons based on its patterns. At some point he'd face the creature to buy everyone else time, and they think he got torn apart, but he really just loses a hand or something and still survives. His looks remind me of that kind of character. 😂

Lmao, I think about music and live shows I've been to a lot. Like, David Draiman from Disturbed looks like a general pacing back and forth. Brandon Boyd from Incubus had the vibe of a hippie college professor that loves taking off his shirt. (To be fair, he's built like a freakin house.)
I dunno who the closest band to MTB is. I really can't draw a good parallel. Closest to Skillet is probably, surprisingly, Papa Roach's later stuff.
On second thought, MTB is probably closest to Blue Oyster Cult, but they really don't have the same style of music.

Sometime earlier this year. I remember letting you know that I was. I listened to a bunch of other Christian bands too, and the only ones I liked were POD and TFK.

Ugh, I don't know if my ear is getting better or worse. It feels so full from these drops... I think it's getting stuff out? Maybe? It hurts now and then. The itching has died down at least... I think.

It's a long story... Anyway, he's the one who's staying in a hotel... I didn't want to ask him to do that, but I had to. He was on his way before he told anyone he was coming, and not everyone wants him in the house. He previously overstayed his welcome last time and caused a lot of issues. I personally enjoy seeing him in small doses. It's just so much family drama that I'm tired of being in the middle of...

I've been holding things together. There were a couple of really bad nights, but I think it feels like it's going better than ever now. Just 2 more days, and I'll be outside of the house for most of it. Everything will be ok now I think.
