@mytwistedsoul Which picture? I cant see no picture 😭 I'm not easily triggered by images........... but cooked okra is my one exception.

I disappeared because I had a small accident and I was hospitalised lol

@mytwistedsoul I'm ok now. Don't really wanna talk about the specifics online. But yeah, I'm fine now. But it was kinda serious. 


Anyway, how are you, Soul? Hope your spirit is bright this Christmas. Got any traditions? ...Actually,... do you celebrate Christmas?

Tbh I hate this time of year. It brings up a lot of feelings and memories. I'm not much for the holiday spirit. 
Not many traditions tbh. But I did put up a small Christmas tree for the puppy lol! 
Do you and your family celebrate Christmas?

Yes.. it is that time of the year which amplifies everything— especially the memories feel sharper against the backdrop of all the "cheer." It takes a lot of strength just to move through these days. I get that too. I love Christmas but it is also exhausting.
Putting up a small tree for your puppy is such a tender, genuine act. Sometimes those quiet, personal rituals… the ones we do just for a moment of softness… mean the most. It sounds so cute... and I'm sure that puppy is thrilled.

Here... I do have my Christmas lights and decorations…  my friends put them up…  so there is a festive atmosphere. But this year Im not attending any family dinner. Id have to fly back to join them and since Im still recovering, I dont really feel up to it. Tbh it’s also a bit of an excuse. Things arent very smooth back home so it’ll just be me and my tree  for Christmas.

@azurePond Tbh puppy didn't seem to really give two hoots about the tree except for when he was trying to drag it across the room 😂 but that's ok too. I went through the motions. They are sharper. 

It would be pretty exhausting, especially with a big family. You wear a mask around them don't you? I can only imagine how much commotion there would be with a big family at the holidays. 😬 I can understand not wanting to be there especially if things aren't going smoothly back home. Nothing wrong with using what happened a little to give yourself a reprieve. 
I'm glad your friends put some lights and decorations up for you. That's nice 😊 it brightens up the space

@mytwistedsoul Haha dragging the tree across the room absolutely counts as engagement 😂 Puppies have their own priorities... clearly!


Yes it would be exhausting. And you’re right... I do wear a bit of a mask around them. Big families at the holidays are… a lot. All that noise, emotion, history, and expectation packed into a few days 😬  So yes, the reprieve is very much intentional and honestly needed. 

I’m really grateful for my friends😊... they try a lot for me tbh. 

Are you planning to camp this year during the Christmas and New Year holidays?
It would be pretty cold there right?... so probably no camping?

Oh wow yeah that is a lot to pack into a few days. It definitely wouldn't be relaxing in any way. Hey if you need the reprieve I would be the last person to tell you other wise. I'm proud of you for knowing you need it and taking it. ❤️

Nope no camping this time. Puppy isn't ready for that adventure yet. Plus they've been talking about a snow and ice storm. So we'll stay home where it's warm 😊

Thank you, Soul. Yes ...  like my sister says, my family members are basically particles in a hadron collider… the crashing into each other part is inevitable, lol. Definitely not the place to relax.

Ah ok...  Camping with the puppy sounds lovely.

I’ll be camping this year — just not until later parts of 2026. I’ve researched it, asked one of my friends to come along and even bought the gear. I just need to recover properly first.

An ice storm though? stay safe.

Staying home sounds perfect... especially with a puppy and a snow/ice storm looming. Warm, safe, cosy 😊 Give the pup an extra cuddle from me❤️

@azurePond Tbh I wish I had a fraction of his determination. Lately I feel too ready to quit. 


Ahh... my grandmother would have said our family is like oil and water. We definitely don't mix well 😅 I am sorry that it's that way for you. It's sad that family can't be that safe soft place when we need it

Sounds like you've got a nice adventure planned! I'm glad you got the gear and asked a friend along. I figure puppy and I will have an adventure this spring. He'll be older and hopefully better behaved 😅 and listen better. Right now he seems to have selective hearing and no means go. And stop is just a suggestion to puppy logic. I'm really happy you're going camping! 😊 But yes make sure you're recovered and good to go ❤️

Currently it's sleeting. Then it's supposed to snow and somewhere it's supposed to turn to freezing rain. I really don't like winter 😬 But we're warm and cozy. Puppy is sleeping at my feet but I'll definitely give him a cuddle for you ❤️
