Actually I'm not to busy with penpal chats because talking 1-1 with people scares me, but I have 2 group chats going😁💖 but your a friend so I'm sure talking to you won't be scary💖 forgive me if I'm not quick with my replies, I haven't been on cups much this past week. When I'm really struggling mentally I tend to isolate myself 😕 even from 7 cups.

If me and you were sat in the park on a quiet evening talking nicely, when all of a audden we get beamed up to an alien space ship, and they are hungry but not hungry enough to eat both of us. So they said we can beam down one of us and eat the other. But you are the one who has to decide which of us is eaten..... Who would you choose???

Thank you for responding, I appreciate it all the more after you told me that 1-1's are something that you find intimidating. I hope that you never have cause to feel so with me.
Hmm, so the alien's must eat one of us and I must decide...well, then I would say my choice would be you would be sent back and I would remain on the menu. Why you might ask? Well, for a few reasons;
1: I am already wrapped in metal, so pretty much oven ready.
2: A freshly baked Bastion is going to be so scorching, it will take them a while to wait for me to cool down so they can unwrap me...giving you more time to skedaddle.
3: I suspect my 6'3" self possibly contains more munchable material than wee Tiny, thus improving the odds that the aliens will be so full they will not bother looking for you a second time.
4: You have such an amazing sense of humour, that IF the aliens nibbled on you, they are sure to find you taste 'funny', and so would probably put you aside and eat me anyway.
How about you Tiny? Would you be offering me up to the interstellar buffet?
May I ask how you are really doing? Your absences are always noticed, and you are missed during them. If you are having a bit of a tough time at the moment, I hope you know there are people here who care about you. And do not fret about response times, whenever you reply is fine with me. Good things are worth waiting for.

It is a few minutes past midnight here also, and sitting outside to draw on such a balmy evening sounds like a really good idea.
I do not doubt you would indeed put yourself on the alien's plate. You have always struck me as the considerate and selfless type. So, I shall keep my eyes peeled on the night sky and make sure neither of us ever have to tangle with space faring gourmands.
Questions are never unwelcome with me, so always feel free to speak what is on your mind. In regards to my recovery, yes it is looking better. There is nerve damage that probably will not be reversed, but I already can do a lot. So, yes, chances are good I will eventually be something similiar to my former self.
May I ask what you are currently drawing? Do you have particular things which inspire your creativity?

@Tinywhisper11 ok I'm back 😁 I love sitting outside in the summer, but only at night or early mornings, cause I have to wear this huge hot brace, which allows me to be able to sit up so in the sun it's just to hot💖 I'm glad your recovering well 💖 art inspiration I don't know, I guess I want to make everything magical😁 running low on ideas has never happened to me yet. I'm currently drawing characters from a tv show 'it's always sunny in Philadelphia ' I get a lot of people here at the care home mostly the staff, asking me to draw or make things for them 💖😁💖

Yes, I have been camping quite a few times. Not in recent years, but I used to go a lot with friends. So I am completely onboard with the sitting out in dusk/dawn (especially if the stars are still visible in the sky). Why did you wish to know if I had been camping?
Sorry to hear that your brace limits your comfort factor when it is too warm. It is so nice to hear that you are getting commissions from the staff where you live, you rockstar artist you! Glad to hear you are another warrior fighting banality with the gentlest of weapons, and returning magic to the world. Kudos to you.
Please forgive my impertinence, but I have noticed that many individuals refer to you as Lola. How would you prefer me to address you? (Suzerain of Soothing sentiment maybe if Tiny, Whisper, or Lola are not your preferred nomenclature).
How are you truly by the way? You are always being so kind to others and staying bubbly. But even super energiser bunnies like your good self sometimes might need a little tender treatment.

It would be untrue for me to suggest I could begin to imagine the feelings that you may be dealing with on such an anniversary. I am sorry if they cause you pain, and even more so when you mention that you hold blame for yourself. I only know the small snippets that I have seen you post publicly, and even that seems very hard and cruel indeed. If you do not want to talk about it, or if me saying this stuff makes it worse or harder for you just say and I will shut up. I truly just want to help and soothe a little if I can. If you want to talk about it, or just about things you are finding challenging I am here. If distractions are more what you need right now, we can do that too....or if you just need a safe place with someone to stand guard and keep the less pleasant thoughts and feelings at bay for a bit, we can muster that up too. Just say the word.

It's 2am here, I'm not ready to go to sleep yet, my sleep schedule doesn't actually exsist, it goes by my pain levels.

We are in the same time zone mon amie. I hope you are not hurting too badly, pain is a pain in the butt...even when it is elsewhere too. You have my sympathies on that score.
I am really sorry to hear you were having unwanted attention given to you. It is disappointing to think that someone might not show you the respect and courtesy you deserve. I hope the discomfort will be fleeting and that there will be no further instances of anyone making you nervous.
As to your questions, he is named Falcor after his namesake. He is a semi soft toy....parts of him are cuddly and plush, but other parts are made from much stiffer leather. Not really a cuddly fellow, but he looks so fluffy and adorable that his place in the bed is assured.
The chainmail shirt is made from interlinking thick metal hoops that make a lattice. It is a shirt of armour....and it weighs a lot. I also have a set of plate armour, but I did not make that myself.
I had a strong suspicion you might have been smurf sized....there was definitely a smurfette vibe coming from you. Country music certainly has an ambiance very unique to it, and I whole heartedly agree with you on xmas music. Who can resist it?
Is it very painful tonight? If it were possible I would say hand it over to me and I will carry it around for you for a while. Hey, if it works for hobbits and rings of power, why cannot they create a pain transferring bracelet? How I hurt my back was a work related injury. Heavy loads and heavy machines and squishy human bodies do not make good companions. Bits of Bastion went crunch, and then whilst waiting for surgery, the nerves got quite damaged.
Camping is great! One of my favourite memories is camping with friends in late October. It was bitterly cold, so much so that the condensation was freezing inside our tent. So my friends and I all cuddled up together around the campfire embers and just watched the stars and fell asleep to the soft sound of the crackling wood as it smouldered, the sighing rustle of wind through the leafless tree limbs, and the creaking and snapping of frost covered branches. The smell of woodsmoke permeates everything, but it is a homely, comforting smell.
I reckon you might indeed love camping. You seem to have the right sense of wonderment and appreciation for the magical in the mundane to fully enjoy it. Some people get put off because of the lack of facilities, but you just make do when camping. It's all part of the fun.
Where would you go camping if money was no object and any hindrances were dealt with?

my pain levels are normal, they start of low in the mornings but gets worse and worse as the day goes on🙁 I'm guessing it's that way for you to right now🙁

Retirement does sound like a blast. I have an idea, how about you explore all the possible delights of it for me as a fact finding mission, and that way when I get around to doing it one day i can ask you all the important questions about it and you can be my sage advisor? How does that sound?
I hope to get back to work. I will almost certainly never be able to do what i used to do, but that just means exploring new avenues. Adventure!
Camping at the beach sounds awesome. I have spent evenings on the dunes and at the beach but ever actually camped at them. Your idea sounds great. I hope that things align so that you can get to enact that plan someday.
I completely empathise with the fluctuating pain thing. I wish you did not have to endure it. I am quite certain my own discomfort pales in comparison to yours, (besides, I am a too dim to suffer too greatly, after all...no sense, no feeling), so it always makes me so impressed by all the things you say and do. You are quite the legend Lola. But if you are ever having a bit of a tough day, feel free to box all those pains up and ship them over to me and I shall carry them for you to give you a bit of a rest.

I am not sure what career path I will try next. I am warming up to the idea of maybe trying something along the lines of social care, but that is something very very different from anything I have done previously, so I need to see about training. But who knows. I am keeping an open mind, so nothing is off the table when I am properly back on my feet again.
Thank you for suggesting I handle the discomfort well. Coming from a trooper such as yourself, that means a great deal (but I still feel very humble when I compare our respective situations. You have my utmost respect).
@BastionKnight my one piggie has got longer hair than the other two, so I just gave him a haircut😁 I hope that will keep him a bit cooler, they have their own fan but an hour ago it was 35 degrees, and poor piggies were just led out in front of the fan🙁

It has been a bit of a scorcher lately hasn't it. Poor wee piggies. Lucky they have you to help them stay cool (Is sooooo imagining one with a mohawk and the other with a huge renaissance bouffant coiffure) .
How have you managed to keep cool in this sweltering heatwave? I presume just looking in the mirror and saying "Yup, Lola....still cool!"? I for one just have tried carrying around a fan with me....but so far I think it is proving more of a hassle than a benefit.
@BastionKnight yep I'm always cool😎 I saw someone with a fan that goes around your neck, it's battery operates and you can point the fan towards your face or body, I thought it was pretty cool😁
I checked the temperature at nine and it was still 30 degrees. I don't handle the heat well that's why I love going outside at night and early mornings cause it's nice and cool. With this huge brace I have to wear to be able to sit up its gets soooo hot so quickly, so I spend most of the day lying down with the fans on. Only problem is U can't do anything without the brace. My carers give me cold showers which feels so nice 😁 what about you? Are you managing ok?

You'd think they would invent a brace with air conditioning, or at the very least a cool drink reservoir,... maybe a built in radio...or karaoke player....hmmm, and a mini fridge....and an ice-cream dispenser...yes!...now we are getting somewhere.

so you used to go camping, but what other adventures have you been on?? I've never been anywhere, ever, well except for flying to the UK from the US and hospital trips. I see pics/photos of some really cool places like the arcade and theme parks I'd looovvvee to go on a roller coaster😍 I don't think I'll be tall enough though, so you'll have to duct tape me to your back😁😁😁

I have been to a few places, and lived in quite a few different locations. The countries I have been to (some not for very long, some for extended periods of time) are France, Spain, Germany, Wales, Mexico, Australia, and Austria. But there are lots of places I would like to see if possible. But as to adventures, most of those happen in my daydreams and in the scribbles I write down, (which is lucky really, as it saves an absolute fortune on travel, and is far less likely to require specialist equipment and/or injections before departure).
What adventures have you got on your bucket list? I am betting that with your imagination and wit, they are going to be things that most folks will not have thought of before. And if anyone is likely to be striking things as completed on such a list I would have confidence that you would be one such intrepid individual. I reckon you would come up with all sorts of creative solutions and ways to make them possible.

It is great to see the start of a potential bucket-list for you;
Ride a Bull....excellent idea, but remember to be equitable about it...you get 15 minutes and then it is the bulls turn....piggyback rides should be reciprocated.
By gold, do you mean the McVities caramel coated biscuits? I DEFINITLY want to see the statue made out of those!

You have not tried a pretzel? Do you mean the large brine dunked baked dough knot ones or the small little biscuit-like ones....or both? Sounds like you already have quite the start to a list already. One thing I do notice though as a pretty universal constant with every bucket-list i have ever been told about....not one of them mentions getting a bucket!

Just thought I would send a brief missive to let you know you are being thought of and to check how you are doing on these still rather stiflingly warm evenings. My home was far too warm, and so I took the opportunity to go on a little walk. I managed to venture to the very edge of the woods before my protesting back and legs persuaded me to reluctantly turn back. But it was further than I had been for a while, so I was still pleased. The stars are bright, the wind is soothing, and the silhouettes of the trees looked like they were dancing.
I hope you have had a pleasant few days since last we spoke, and that your creative juices have been flowing when you draw.
Keep doing what you do, it makes the world smile.
@BastionKnight it finally cooked down a bit tonight😁 so I think I'm going to try and sleep for a while before it gets really hot again💖 going for a walk by the woods sounds dreamy, I'm glad your able to do that💖💖 but yes don't over do it mister. I thought I would check in to see in what ways you have been taking the world by storm lately. How have the art projects been coming along?
It does seem that you have been a bit quieter on the forums as of late. I hope this is because you are on a whirlwind of social engagements and/or sequestered in a smiling fury of artistic frenzy, creating art of all types. If this is not quite the case, know that you are thought about and that everyone who knows you is keen to see you happy.
Speaking of happiness, and seeing as how you are very often the Empress of Smile-inducement, what three things make Lola smile on a regular basis....I have a feeling one of them is probably going to be ice-cream related?
I am also curious; you have quite the raconteurs wit. Have you ever considered doing your own podcast or some other form of influencer type endeavour, as I would imagine you have the skill set to make it a success. (If you already are doing something like that, then kudos...don't give me details as your privacy trumps curiosity). Where do you envision Tinwhisper will be in the next few years? I confident if any of us will be pursuing our dreams by then, then surely Lola will be leading by example.
Anywho, just wanted to check in. May your days be pleasant and your dreams expansive.
