When were you diagnosed with DPD? What were your reactions to the diagnosis? : It's hard to offically say, this year was when my therapist made connections I didn't see.
What does DPD look like for you? How do you experience it? : A constant need to please people, affirm myself through approval, change myself to meet others needs, hard fear of abandonment, decision paralysis or checking with others when making any decision (big or small).
What do you struggle the most with? Not allowing myself to say no, idenifying myself and putting my needs first, refusing to need consistent approval.
What support would you like to receive from others? What support would you like to receive from this subcommunity more specifically? : Maybe just hearing other stories, I find new viewpoints do help because it allows me to just listen and not trigger that drive to "find a solution". I'm not entirely sure yet.
Have you found any coping mechanisms or techniques that are helpful? I tend to gravitate towards my music, it's a healthy way for me to vent and recently I've been picking up singing. I find raw expression through music just allows for things I can't say normally. Writing has been helping too. In the moment coping skills or techniques I have yet to find, and these would help greatly as I tend to let myself get run over by others.
