Hi everyone. Doing this as part of my path. But I wanted to ask, I’m doing the online therapy through 7 Cups. Has anyone had success with it? Or is there additional resources I’ll need to be more chill with my symptoms?

Hey, I don't know how to answer your question specifically with 7 cups I only started therapy 10 minutes ago myself but knowing I've professional support in my back pocket already makes me feel a bit more secure :) but I did want to mention a little bit of my story thus far, I got diagnosed with bpd 3 years ago well self diagnosed until i got diagnosed professionally about a year to two years ago ( public mental healthcare in my country is abismal and they didn't even confirm my diagnoses until a year later when I jumped through all the hoops again just for confirmation) but in that time I knew myself what I needed help with and what my symptoms were as I was extensively looking for information and support, because I had none and knew nothing besides I fit the bill perfectly, in my time doing so I came across alot of helpful things you can do for yourself and minimize those symptoms and behaviours . :)

self compassion and understanding

I use a journalling app everyday just to pay attention to the ups and downs ( minddoc) I found this helpful to understand a midground and express the more difficult thoughts and expressions of my feelings,(without reprecussion or judgment from others, my own personal space. And without hurting anyone else ) also it helped to pinpoint what I was feeling because there is a a section where you can choose what your feeling at that time of day as well as a journalling section for your thoughts, they also ask you questions daily about where you are at and how it's affecting you and every two weeks it'll be summarised in a neat way and gives you insights and prepares the results for a professional too if need be, in my experience this ultimately have more control and insight into myself and helped me treat myself better long term :)

information and additional resources

I found a psychologist with a warm demeanour and helpful videos with bpd and other disorders by the name of Dr Daniel Fox on YouTube. He has really helped me understand and learn new and adaptive behaviours to deal with symptoms and lessen them while also reminding you that it is possible and not a life sentence sort of situation. He mainly has a lot of information on bpd, he has written a book called the bpd workbook that is very good at helping you through the process of recovery, I'm currently working on mine at my own pace :) he also has helpful worksheets tied to the topics of his videos available for free online too, all over I found this resource extremely helpful these last 3 years of my journey, I have seen remission of symptoms and a better perspective on life due to the work I've been doing by myself all this time although it has been hard to maintain,( hence therapy) a lot of the understanding and knowledge it brought me ultimately has helped even in my current stage where I'm not doing so well I'm far more accepting, understanding and capable of fighting the good fight as much as I can due to his YouTube channel and presence :)

more self compassion and understanding

I also found an app for Android ( might be released on Apple now) called atom : daily meditation for beginners. It's a 21 day course in understanding how habits form and how to form healthy habits for personal growth throught a meditation habit.

This app was phenomenal in helping me to mediate daily it's such a sweet app where you learn a little bit meditate for a minute or two and then you grow a little tree ! So you can see your journey in front of you in a nice little way :)

Meditation is such strong tool and brilliant resource for self compassion ( it goes so far with bpd) and focusing your mind where you would like it to be and understanding how to let your unnecessary thoughts drift away. It's very helpful in understanding what you are feeling and working through that feeling, I know it's not easy to face yourself at times but meditating can really help you build that friendship with yourself again so that you can stop being your own worst enemy. It's daunting to think about meditating you mostly hear of people doing it for hours and things but that's where atom comes in to show you how you can start a journey on being a more mindful you a little step everyday :)

I also followed that course up with another meditation/yoga/spiritual app that's called insight timer .

Where you can go through and find meditations that you would like to try for what ever you might need that day ( maybe today your full of energy and want to focus it but yesterday you were only in need of strength to get out of bed there is something there! ) Or you can just do your own unguided one with sounds and bells or just silence there is options for that there too. It tracks your over all time mediating and how many days you've kept it up and stuff which to me is really nice to see that progress and know it's there, I found it was a really nice progression of that habit bringing alot more order and self compassion in my journey of bpd recovery :)

I know this is a bit long I'm sorry 😅 I wanted to share what has helped me and how because I know it's not easy and sometimes people just listing off things doesn't help but hearing it from a personal perspective can be alot more informative and inspiring. :) I really hope this helps you in your journey and that it helps you to find more resources and ways that you can also support and be kind to yourself , because no matter what bpd says you are worth it and you do matter and it is completely okay to treat yourself kindly :)

Feel free to ask me any questions about all of these or if they don't suit I know of a few other things that can be helpful resources too :) I hope this message find you happy and at peace ✌️💞💕🥰

@ivyk I really agree with the Self-compassion thing! I use that a lot and it really helps me cope with moods and feelings that can otherwise be overwhelming!
