BPD - How do you feel today?

I know that with BPD, we have a dynamic spectrum of emotions we could be feeling from moment-to-moment, from day-to-day. But here is a place where you can just get out how you're feeling. Post every day week, every day, every hour. This is your place to celebrate and vent.

All my love,

Lee.

I've self-diagnosis myself with BPD. It fits me perfectly, and it's nice to know what's going on. But that doesn't help how lonely I am.

You cannot self diagnose. Psychiatrists go through 8 years of medical school and training after university to diagnose psychiatric disorders and brain diseases. Diagnosing yourself with BPD is like guessing at what the problem is with your computer when you've never taken any computer science. It's really dangerous and incredibly psychologically harmful to label yourself with a debilitating brain disease that you might not have. Seek out a reputable psychiatrist if you've had symptoms of mania and severe depression. If you do in fact have BPD a good psychiatrist can help you manage the disease and make referrals to other mental health professionals such as a clinical psychologist who can also help. By reputable I mean try and do some research on what other people say online etc. There are a lot of bad psychiatrists out there unfortunately so this is an important step-trust me. The hardest part with psychological pain for most of us is figuring out if we're "normal" or not and by far the vast majority of us are-meaning we don't have anything pathologically wrong with our brains but nonetheless most of us could benefit from psychological interventions to change maldaptive thinking habits, help us better to better cope life and interpersonal stresses. That's all normal. Good luck!

So I was diagnosed with BPD about 3-4 years ago, which made a lot of sense to me reading all the symptoms, however not long after I was diagnosed I just stopped going to therapy and quit taking any medication I was prescribed since I felt like I'd be alright, at that time i was a chronic [edited by forum mentor for mention of substance/medication name] user and that probably impacted my decision to quit medication and therapy. I just recently stopped now I'm feeling all kinds of emotions and I don't know how to deal with them.

I'm having a bad day today. One of those days where my chest is tight and I feel anxious. Trying really hard to avoid the temptation of self-injury but it's difficult. I'm so lost. I feel so empty and everyone just keeps leaving me to fend for myself. I need a support system but everything just keeps falling apart.

Today I lost the one person who could make everything better. My best friend. I got "friend dumped". I just don't understand what I've done to deserve this, I'm the most loyal person ever to her. She was the one who got me to go the doctors to get diagnosed with bpd, she was there when I was rushed to hospital when the emptiness got too much. She was the light in my darkness.

Who going to save me now?

@amelia2694 I'm so sorry this happened to you. Friend breakups are so hard, sometimes even harder than romantic ones. I hope your friend comes to her senses and you can work things out. And if not, there are better people out there for you. I've gone through friend breakups before, and actually ended up rekindling a friendship a year later and we are closer than ever. I've also had friends break up with me out of the blue and though it was heartbreaking at the time, now I couldn't be happier to have them out of my life. You will get through this Amelia <3

I'm actually feeling pretty good. Have been controlling my emotions for awhile now. My depression has lifted and my mood seems to not swing as much. laugh

I can't handle my emotions tonight. My best friend went out without inviting me, and then a character was killed off on my favourite show. Seems minor, but enough to set me off sobbing hysterically and wishing I could kill myself. I wish I didn't feel everything so much.

Undefined. I hate this kind of a feeling. I need euphoria.
