BPD and no childhood trauma?

Does anyone have this? Can someone just be born this way? My daughter grew up in a living home with two involved parents and a sibling. She was always very intense for as long as I can remember. Even at 5 she wanted to know what her purpose in life was. She would flip moods so quick. She did have some health scares later in her teens. Things got worse then but it feels like her personality was always different than her sibling for most of her life.

@hulahoopgal I'm not an expert, but I've read the American Psychiatric Association's official criteria for diagnosing BPD, and they only say childhood trauma is "more common" in BPD, not a necessary criterion. So yes, it is definitely possible for someone to have BPD without any childhood trauma.

They also say the most common pattern is for BPD to become an issue in early adulthood, and for it to decrease later in life. So it seems that noticing some symptoms in your daughter from the age of 5 is unusual.

I have this I think. It’s very scary the way being broken up with or losing a friend or other major life event makes me feel. Also the inability to build many peer relationships that are trustworthy is very scary. Someone has to be very very safe to me and never say or do anything that’s slightly hurtful for me to be ok. I’m being dumped now because I was too controlling and unable to have good trust or boundaries or exercise good decision making in the relationship. It’s so silly, but I’m at the point where I’m wondering what will become of me!

Also, I did grow up with abuse in the household, and boundaries were not set. It’s crazy that I’m being accused of being the abuser now because that’s how I felt about my mom and my family, I always wanted to run away. I’m having a hard time letting my ex go because of my abandonment issues, I said to him that I was having trouble accepting our break up
