Borderline Personality Support Group!
Hello, everyone!
I'm here to gather opinions, and meet new faces here in our community! I actually wanted to start this thread to ask all of you in this community if you would like it if we started a discussion group about this particular personality disorder. I've seen a lot of community events for Anxiety, Depression and so on, but almost none for BPD.
Would any of you enjoy it, or like to participate? If so, what are some things that you'd like to discuss, or what things would interest you in this kind of setting.
Thank you all, and know that you are all loved. ♥
More detail about this potential discussion group, I was hoping it could be an awareness / support group.
There is a lot of stigma surrounding BPD, and I would like people who have BPD (like myself and others), to help educate our community on what it really is, and for us to gather support from each-other.
Living with BPD can be horrible at times, but with the help of others it can become easier!
I hope you all agree on this, and I hope we can move forward!
Yes please
I know that not many people follow this forum, but I would love if it all of you who did started showing those who have BPD and want support it. I want you to know that you're all loved and that we are all here to support you.
I am newly diagnosed with BPD, although I have suffered for many years. I am struggling with many aspects of this. Am deserate to find a way forward with my life and would love to hear what others think and suggest.
@GroovyGran
Hey! I'm glad to hear that you like the idea, and I was wondering if you have anything you'd like to input, like suggestions or anything else that would help make this idea better?
@GroovyGran
Hey, its been a while since you posted but, You are not alone and i think thats what this support group could really show some people like us who are struggling.. Just remeber youre not alone and there are people out there who are going through what you are going through
I love the idea of having a BPD Support/awareness. I think it's something that people need to be more educated around and people suffering could definitely use the extra support. I open up my listener message box to people who are dealing with BPD because I understand it first hand. Thank you for being a stand for borderline support and awareness!

I think this would be amazing.. I have also been looking everywhere for supports for people with borderline personality disorder, as it is a very difficult diagnosis, and for me, and many others.. its very emotioanl and hard to deal with. Even if the chat was opened to all different personality disorders.. so not just limited to one.. but so others could feel free to join aswell.

Borderline is often co-morbid with other personality disorders, so maybe discussing how they interact with each other would be a good thing? Or what it's like to be co-morbid, especially since of all the discrimination against personality disorders in general.
I think I am going to speak with Heather about possibly making this idea happen.
@RubberDaisies
I would be a huge advocate, and support you through this because i have been searching everywhere for something like this.. and it could be life changing.. expecially since this diagnosis can be very lonley... and you feel like you dont fit in just the depresiion or anxiety groups.. like there is more you have to say that you feel no one will understand.. or that youll be irattional about soemthing.. this would be amazing.. yes we could definitally talk about how things co-exsist.. like with borderline you can have depreeion, anxiety, eating disorders, ocd.. and pther personality disorders like avoidant, and dependent and stuff..
@RubberDaisies
There is a huge stigma around people with BPD, and it can even be extremley difficult to find, counsellors, therapists or even friends who will put up with it..
I think that the group should be used to support and also educate... expecially around the stigma bpd seems to have.. like that we are all bad people, manipulative, or liars
@aquaAcai9486
Exactly! People with borderline are more likely to be victims of abuse than they are to be abusers. Not to say that some aren't abusive, but just about anyone, mentally ill or not, can be abusive. Due to like, the constant need for attention (which I won't deny) negative or positive, a lot of us end up getting ourselves in abusive relationships.
People just don't understand.
And there are all the books that are like, "How to deal with your Borderline" and it's disgusting frankly. Well maybe you're "dealing" with us, but we have to deal with us too and it's like 100x worse.
@RubberDaisies
yes!!

<3 Hello everyone! I'm currently trying my very best to make sure that this happens! I hope you can all bear with me while it might take a bit but I am trying my best.
