Hi Yall,

My name is Rachel, im 18 and I was just recently diagnosed with Borderline and bipolar, soon after my diagnosis I got put on meds and then soon after my therapist decided I needed a higher level of care then they could provide and recommended a DBT support group. Personally dbt seems dumb to me, if I could have a wise mind I would and I know i'm emotionally irrational but no amount of tapping, breathing, opposite actions, or wise minds seem to be helping.

I know dbt is the golden standard for bpd so I wanted to know if anyone had any good alternatives regarding forms of therapy. I also wanted to know if anyone whos attended the DBT classes or group therapy has anything to say regarding it. What was it like? what did they teach you? etc.

@notr4ch3l Hello Rachel, thank you for reaching out and sharing about your recent diagnosis and experiences with treatment. It takes courage to seek support and try different approaches. DBT can feel challenging, and, understandably, it doesn't resonate with everyone. Have you explored other forms of therapy or support groups alongside DBT?
