From what I've noticed
Sometimes this site can be a little hectic when it comes to people with personality disorders. I hope I'm not stepping out of line but I've noticed a lot of people don't understand BPD, and it makes it difficult whenever I'm having trouble with symptoms for someone to understand. I've made a lot of people angry from my BPD on here. I think this site needs more support for BPD people and people with personality disorders. Does anyone agree with me?
Hi @QuietPastelRain
Yes, BPD and other personality disorders can be hard for people to understand. A lot of the time people just don't know what's going on and when that happens they can sometimes get angry. I hope you've found listeners here who are calm and caring, and who you can talk to about things when you're haveing trouble with symptoms.
I have had the same problem whenever I try to explain BPD to some people. It's complicated and things are troubling if the person doesn't know much about borderline personality disorder in the first place.
I think this goes across all mental health related communities. I recently got kicked out of a community for having a borderline-related meltdown/episode and they won't let me back in. It's ridiculous they allowed people to post there in the middle of panic attacks and suicidal episodes but the moment any aggressive tendencies showed, people would get the boot there.
To be honest, I hope it's better here. I'm thankful there's a part dedicated to BPD here.
@silentRaven52 I'm sorry the other community you were in wasnt very understanding. Here, there's other members and listenersd with BPD so that makes things easier, I think.
You bring up a great topic here about the unique needs of individuals here on 7 Cups. The chat format in particular can make it really difficult to communicate and feel validated with the specific symptom set of Borderline Personality Disorder, along with feeling vulnerable or hostile in general. Here is a link to a thread I think might help provide more support in this area.
