Hey :)
Hello!
I'm fairly new to 7 Cups, so I'm just surfing through the forums and posting here and there to try and introduce myself to the right communities, so you might see me popping up in other places!
I was diagnosed with BPD in 2012 at the age of 24, having had a diagnosis of Bipolar 2 for the previous 6 years.
The MHT I was under when I first got diagnosed were less than helpful, and discharged me pretty soon after the diagnosis, saying there was nothing they could do for me. I lasted about a year on my own, and then had to get referred back into services. However this time, as I had changed GP's in the interim, I was referred to a different area team, and this time I have had a lot of help and support. I'm on the waiting list to be assessed for the suitability of a specialised personality disorder treatment network, so fingers crossed.
I'm pretty much a textbook example of BPD! I'm always happy to talk to others about my diagnosis though, so feel free to message me. Nice to meet you all!
Hi!
It's good to meet you. Welcome to 7 Cups! I look forward to seeing you popping up around the forums
Treatment for BPD is very patchy in the UK, so I hope your assessment for the specialised treatment network works out for you.
By the way, to talk to others here about your own diagnosis and treatment it's usual to have a separate member account, so that your listener account is reserved for listening and related things. Not everyone sticks to the rule rigidly, but that's meant to be the rule. Feel free to message me any time about anything, and from either of your accounts

Ahh I didn't realise that... oops. I do have a member account as well, I will remember that rule in future. Thank you for pointing it out to me in a friendly way :)
Also thank you for your offer of a message, I will certainly keep that in mind, and I'll remember to tell you who I am if I message you from my member account :)
OK, maybe we will chat some time
In fact if you use your member account you don't need to tell anyone you're a listener. You can keep that a secret if you want to. It's up to you.
@rachella
It would be great to chat with you sometime. it's nice to beable to share with people who understand and can relate cause we all have been there. and I've learned more from people who bipolar and depression than any other place. please feel free to chat with me anytime. have a nice weekend.
Because you're a member and @rachella is a listener, you have to start the chat by sending a message. The site does not allow anyone to start chats with members. This is to protect members from unwanted chats.
