I think i might have Bpd because i show a lot of symptoms. I have a psychiatrist but i cant help but lie to her about how bad it is and even with the info she has she can't diagnose me. I feel helpless about it and it's getting out of hand. What can i do? How can i be sure i have it when I'm not a professional and how do i even know what exactly is wrong with me? I need someone to explain to me with their experience and I need advice

@Ranianxious It's not your job to know what exactly is wrong. It's the psychiatrist's job. Working out what's wrong is exactly what a psychiatrist is for.

If your psychiatrist is unable to do that because you can't help lying to her, then you need to find a psychiatrist who doesn't make you lie to her. Some psychiatrists are amazingly good and you'll find yourself saying things you've never told anyone before.

By the way, you probably know already that thinking you might have BPD doesn't mean you have BPD. You can't self-diagnose. You need a psychiatrist to be sure.

Thanks! You're right, i know. I should probably change my therapist. I know the dangers of self diagnosis

It's very overwhelming to be confused about yourself. Speak to your psychiatrist again about which symptoms you don't meet. Also be honest and tell them you lied since this could also be another behavior included in a disorder
