That is a really interesting point. I think that the media goes a long ways in misrepresenting us as people who act out and then merely blame it on our diagnosis, without understanding the underlying issues behind why we act the way we do. I think in trying to educate others and in just sharing experiences, we find a better understanding, and can help clear up misconceptions. My social media is full of tidbits about BPD and other misunderstood illnesses. It's all a matter of helping others to better understand us as people, and I think in doing that, we can erase some of the damage that perpetuated common misconceptions has done to BPD.
